Do you think American actors actually care much about how a movie does outside the US?
Or is it more important for them that the movie does well in the US ?
If a movie does great outside the US, bud badly in the US, Would you consider the movie a hit or a failure?
or if a movie does great in the US and badly outside the US is the movie a hit or a failure ?

No such thing as a stupid question. Stupid people however....
1. Not really.
2. Only if they work in the U.S.
3. You can perhaps say "semi-hit".
4. Maybe the same as #3.

1. if they're getting a cut
2. Yes. At least back in the day when that meant they couldn't get Hollywood work and had to go do spaghetti westerns and Japanese milk commercials and whatnot. Nowadays might be different since Hollywood is more globalist
3. If it makes its money back
4. See #3

I'd say they think that once they've done their acting job, whatever happens after that is none of their concern.

Most of these probably depend on the actors in question.

I think some actors care about box office numbers and some actors are completely oblivious to them, at the end of the day actors are the same as your average workers, they're pursuing their own life, meaning, and paycheck and don't care how well their boss is doing. If the movie is a success, great, call your people and see if they got you something on the back end and have your publicist leak that you want to be in a sequel, the movie fails, oh well, jump ship to the next movie. I honestly have never cared how much money my boss has made, if the business is doing well I'll ask for a raise, if layoffs seem imminent, jump ship. 2. It's always going to be better to do well at home then abroad. You don't live in China so you're not getting all the praise poured upon you, but if you're movies a failure at home you're going to get plenty of think pieces written about whether or not you're the reason. 3. It's still a success, but there's less reason to talk about it, because obviously if nobody in America cared enough about your movie to see it, they're not going to care it did well in Germany. 4. It's still a success, but now you get to go on a victory tour.

Yes, the more people that care, the more money and fame they showered with. 3. A hit. Interstellar is one of my favorite movies. 73% of its box office came from international markets. 4. Indifferent.

"Do you think American actors actually care much about how a movie does outside the US?"
I think they only care how much it does overall. Although with an increasing global market, that does matter to its overall success.
"Or is it more important for them that the movie does well in the US ?"

Again it matters how it does overall. In fact I think of heard of some American films doing poorly in the US but well overseas. All that really matters is if a film makes more than it's budget.
