I'm looking for english language movies (not older then 1990 )based on occult/black magic /folklore/legend/mythology and myths that can fit in the catagory like horror/action/thriller ....
For example
1) The Ritual (2017)
2) Blood Creek (2008)
3) The Reaping (2007)
4) Jinn (2014)
5) The Prophecy movie series
Any other recommendation ?

Midsommar comes to mind. It gets accused of copying The Wicker Man (which is outside your time frame) but it still has enough originality of its own. It’s more of a weird film than a horror film so not to everyone’s taste.

Yes but I was thinking of the original Wicker Man which came out in the 1970s.

There’s Mortal (2020), by the same director as Trollhunter. Problem is, the movie is dependent on knowing nothing about it going in. Which, in this day and age, is a huge problem.
