To ORANGE?
Yes, I spent a few minutes doing a Google search, and didn't get an answer...
Many results came up about street lights needing to 'warm up' when they turn on to get to the proper color... and many lights are being converted to LEDs which now give of a White or Bluish Light... and some are even turning Purple do to bad bulbs...
That's not what is happening here.
The one closest to my house has gone from White in the middle of the night, to Orange in the middle of the night! The exact opposite of what should be going on...
I've lived at this location for years, and it's been White for well over a decade...
Most lights in my area are the traditional/well known color of Orange... But oddly, there are a few oddballs, like mine, that are white... or were...
A couple years ago, one was "Cut Off", when a powerline self destructed, and the street light was not hooked back up to the new wiring... However, since this light was at a school bus stop, it was quickly reported to the electric company, and they hooked it back up...
BUT, when they did so, it was now an Orange color, instead of the original White one...
Another streetlight in my area had also gone out, but a few months ago was fixed... It still shines White...
Mine started flickering (Dimming), a lot, a couple months ago... I was expecting it to go out, but it didn't... and it was doing that last night, as well...
Suddenly?, tonight, the light is now Orange, and it is no longer flickering...
This light is a traditional street light, not LED, and it uses the common Cobra Head light design that most cities seem to use...
Since this is an older traditional type of light... most of those are known for having orange lights...
I find my situation mystifying... I didn't realize that I probably should have had an orange light all this time... but I would have expected it to burn out, not change color...
(Well over a decade ago, it did go out, and I called the electric company to fix it, and they did... Sadly, I can't remember if it was Orange or White, before that.
However, this orange color makes everything look very odd to me... So I guess, it used to be white.)
Could the electric company have "fixed" the light last night, without my knowledge, so that it would not flicker any more, and in the process could the "bulb" have somehow changed color?
Or Could they have replaced the white bulb with an orange one?
Seems odd that they would do that, since so many cities are trying to convert the old orange lights to LED ones that are White...
Just wondering if some of you ACTUAL experts here, might be able to explain this "Backwards" phenomenon of what most cities seem to be doing now...
