I’m tired of multiverses. You just know it’s fantasy AKA bullshit. So basically comic books stories in general? No. I want Spidey to be fighting crims in dark alleys. You may say that multiverses are prevalent in comics, but that’s usually to establish a setting, not to go back and forth like a yo-yo.

In a new interview with Empire (via The Direct), producer Amy Pascal was asked if Holland would appear in Across the Spider-Verse, and she simply stated that she was "not going to comment on anything around that!" But she does remind us that "Tom Holland does love these [Spider-Verse] movies."

I liked it better than the first but was pissed it is a 2-parter.
Would have been nice to know. I mean yeah, I figure Miles will live, but...
There WERE too many characters. Damn.

MEANINGFUL! IT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE! This just tried too hard to beat in the Miles is an underdog bit. the spider bureau Miguel heads takes out anomalies. Turns out Miles is an anomolie. A scientist brought the radioactive spider from another universe (42) which means there is no Spiderman there & the Spiderman in Miles's universe died because Miles got bit. So yeah Can they pound the point in a little harder?

I'm all for the concept of alternate realities in comics and movies, but I thought the message of the first movie was pointless. "Anyone can wear the mask." No kidding, that's why most superheroes wear disguises in the first place, so that children (the target audience when the heroes were created) could imagine themselves being that character. Did people forget that or something? Miles is a popular character, and I'm glad to see the property doing well. But personally, I don't have any interest in it.

Did people forget that or something? Miles is a popular character, and I'm glad to see the property doing well. But personally, I don't have any interest in it. I'd really like to see it. The first one, imo, was excellent. Shockingly so. There were a few minutes at the beginning when my heart seized upon looking at the crowd and wondering if this was a genuine children's movie, like ages 10 and under. Thank goodness that dissipated quickly.
For me, Into the Spiderverse was a breath of fresh air and just a powerhouse of a movie. I cannot speak for everyone, but I did not know who Miels Morales was at the time, but I am invested in his success now.
Spiderman does have powers, though. Every iteration. I always thought the point of Spiderman and why he is so relatable is that it could happen to anybody. It's not that anybody can throw on a costume and be Spiderman. More like the events that led to him becoming Spiderman can happen to anybody. I like that Into the Spiderverse didn't stray far from its relatable blue collar origins, but my point really is that I found Miles Morales every bit as relatable as Peter Parker. The Peter Parker I'm used most used to always straddled the line between house-poor and poverty, and putting that aside to be Spiderman is the test of character that not everyone can pass.
I liked it, but as you said, you don't care for the animation style. Fair.
I get it. I never cared for Clay Mation, stuff like Wallace and Gromit. I've no doubt it's high quality and beloved by many, but my eyes know what they like. I started typing before your line about the animation style hit me. That's a deal breaker that can't be talked out of.

When I was growing up, they WEREN'T interchangeable Steve Rogers wasn't just an experiment in a spangley outfit. Peter Parker wasn't Avengers material. Etc. They were heroes. They went above & beyond. They were something to aspire to.
