having your bronzed over ass handed to you
racism is so inbred in the united states
that there are
still people
who honestly believe that jefferson davis
deserved a statue
for having his ass handed over to him
during one more bloodbath
dedicated to some proposition somewhere
about truly caring for
the millions of slaves and whores
he used to build his power base
all the while wailing amazing grace
to a former carpenter who himself
was a tad bit dark in the face
but who promised to set everyone free
just not as free as you or me.
