What a fascinatingly detestable individual. There are a hundred examples of things he did wrong, but just look at the James Robinson benching situation. Almost every NFL coach out there would say, even if they didn't make the decision, that ultimately they're the coach and they have to take responsibility for everything their team does. Not Urban. His response is only "don't ask me, it was the RB coach that did it. It wasn't me." Of course, it later came out that that was a lie.
Deflecting blame, shirking responsibility, showing zero sense of accountability - this guy was supposed to be a mentor for college students? Without knowing anything about college ball, I'm guessing he won at that level based on his ability to recruit top talent and hire great assistants. No wonder his first instinct here was to blame his assistants for everything that went wrong at JAX; no wonder his antics didn't work with grown men and NFL athletes.
It's a wonder Lawrence and other Jags players were able to comport themselves as well as they did.

It's a wonder Lawrence and other Jags players were able to comport themselves as well as they did. I think he won because he was a dictator. He was successful at smaller programs as well as brand names, so clearly he knows the game. It also helped that he clearly didn't care about character issues in his recruits. Plenty of great college coaches have failed at the pro level (Saban, Spurrier, etc.), but I don't remember any of them failing this spectacularly and with this much controversy in less than a full season. All of his decisions seem like they were made by a man who thinks he's living in the 1950s. "Hey, social media doesn't exist, I can party with this random chick at a bar and nobody will notice." "I can kick players (especially paid professional adults) and tell them I can do whatever I want because I'm the head ball coach, they'll just accept that and fall into line." It's all so inexplicably stupid.

Even if you knew nothing about the guy, if you saw him you'd want to punch him in the face. Hockey coach John Torterella had the same affliction!

oops, I need to change something. RIP Urban Meyer's career? I think Toy is referring to the weekly pick'em. I'm going to stick with the Jags, if anything this should give them a boost, the Texans are just really bad right now.

the most punchable face of all-time has to be Bill Maher's. He's not involved in sports and I don't mind the guy that much, his show is alright but wow.... that face...

That's a good one. I don't mind the guy either but yes, very punchable face. Punchable face is the male version of resting bitch face.

It's all so inexplicably stupid. Don't forget "fly back to Jacksonville with my team after a primetime loss? Fuck that, I'm going to my bar to grope co-eds." and "I'll hire a proven racist as my strength and conditioning coach if I want to - what are the media going to do, cancel me?"

He needs to do what Lane Kiffin did
Maybe be a 'Coordinator' (maybe under Saban) for a couple of years
Then go to a small school like Kiffin did (FAU) - then after a couple of years maybe a big time college will take a shot on him again

I knew Urban would fail the moment he was hired. However to this scale is hilarious to me. He didn't even last long enough to fake a health scare. His career as a coach should be over, this was that embarrassing. However he seems to be completely oblivious to his actions and a college team would likely turn a blind eye.
He just seemed to think the NFL would be a walk in the park but he never realized he would be dealing with grown adults making millions of dollars compared to 18 year old kids. I'm surprised he never got knocked the fuck out. I wish Marvin Jones punched him instead of walking out. I wish Josh Lambo kicked him in the jaw. Urban Meyer is a true disgrace and a piece of shit.
Hopefully he doesn't get a TV job either. He should be black listed.

F-ck Meyer, but that story is shitty in ten different ways. Just another example of the commissioner doing what's best for him as opposed to deciding what's fair.
