Just got a notice when I went to add more monthly service to my 4G TracFone that it will no longer be usable after February...
They did not tell me this on their own... I only was notified when I went to their website to add service to my existing phone.
I was planning to upgrade my phone in the near future, because I can't use any new apps, but I wasn't planning to do so this fast, and it was going to be on MY terms, not theirs...
If I hadn't tried to add more service to my phone, I may not have known... until it stopped working...
So I guess it was a lie, that you could use old phones to dial 9-1-1?

Yep... NO 9-1-1 FOR OLDER DEVICES! AND IT IS APPARENTLY AFFECTING OTHER DEVICES TOO!

I guess this COULD mean that SOME... 3G (& Early 4G) and 9-1-1... services, that were scheduled to end for older devices early this month, won't be shutdown until later in the month or maybe even later in the year...
Don't count on it though... But it could give some users a little more breathing room, to upgrade to newer devices, as soon as they can.
