Walter Payton  Chicago Bears running back Walter Payton lunges over defenders for a first down against the Detroit Lions on Nov. 18, 1984 at Soldier Field in Chicago. Payton, who died of liver disease in 1999, was born on July 25, 1954. Re. the Wayne Gretzky photos, was anyone a victim of the mullet haircut in their younger days? Some of those photos of him really bring back the era.
