I remember the days were there were so few Recurring/Guest actors on this show that you Actor and Actress would be blended and you'd still only have a handful of nominees, so basically we just gave the award to John Aniston year after year. Now look how huge just the men portion is. Obviously having additional Peacock contact factors in, but still.
I almost don't know where to start. John Aniston is a legend, but he hasn't done much this year, and he doesn't even feel like he's acting anymore, he just feels like he's being propped up in a chair and croaking out some lines. Nice use of history to bring Blake and Vincent back, but no. I barely remember what Ivan, Orpheus and Clyde did. I think Cameron Johnson isn't very good as Theo, and Kyle Lowder's only memorable as Rex because of how it weird it is that he's playing Rex. Nice to see Austin Peck as always but, c'mon, he's not getting an acting award. I like Chandler Massey but he kind of felt like he was sleepwalking through his performances in the Peacock stuff, just like he felt like he was in his final years on Days.
For me, it comes down to the following four I think: Wally Kurth who always gives a dependable supporting performance as Justin (even if him and Bonnie don't work for me at all), Greg Rikaart who is always a hoot as Leo, Zach Tinker who I think has surprisingly done a great job injecting some life into Sonny (who had become such a nothing under Freddie Smith) with very limited material to actually work with, and Greg Vaughan, who I'm usually not that into, but who really sold Eric's pain during his brief return (and I hope his return later this month will be good too)
Since I can only choose three, I guess Zach Tinker gets the miss, because he wasn't even on the main show and I'm more giving him credit for how he's good compared to Freddie Smith rather than actually as good as Wally and the Gregs.
