Where would you rank Star Trek: First Contact in the Star Trek pantheon? I liked it. The Borg on the big screen! What rating score would you give it?

The best movie with The Next Generation cast. I always enjoy seeing the Borg, they are great villains, and they did not dissappoint now either. An 8 for me.

Best of TNG films, which is not really saying much. Best reason to watch this film is Stewart's performance. 8/10

4/10. Ridden with plot holes that become more obvious with increased viewings. Picard is suddenly revenge obsessed about the Borg and worried about losing his ship when he never demonstrated either before. The Borg queen is arguably the franchise's most pointless character and completely ruins the whole concept of the Borg
The only good thing I can say is that it's not as bad as Generations, Insurrection, or Nemesis

6/10 - I don't know if it's because I'm not a watcher of Next Generation (I'm a fan of the original series) or because I didn't watch this movie until 20 years after its release, or what, but I found First Contact overrated and kind of boring.
Also, casting Alfre Woodard was a mistake. I found her uninteresting and unfunny, which is too bad because she was given a couple of funny lines that were wasted on her.

Probably the most overrated of all the Trek films. That said, I like how hyper stylized it is. 7/10

I guess 7/10 I agree with angryDukat that Picard acts quite different from his usual self and the Borg Queen despite being well played does alter the idea and reduce the spooky factor a little. I agree Woodward was a pointless character--I wonder how the thing would have been if they ditched the Cochrane plot completely and had them "engaged" with anonymous local people and just focused on the Borg. The Borg scene were well done though. And Robert Picardo's cameo. "I'm a doctor, not a doorstop."
The Borg sound so globalist--funny/scary that what was considered ominous then is now considered progress:
"We are the Borg. Lower your shields and surrender your ships. We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own. Your culture will adapt to service us. Resistance is futile."

Haven't watched this film in years. And not a Next Generation fan at all—generally avoid them. But from what I recall of this, it was very enjoyable. Mostly due to the Borg, the makeup and effects, and Alice Krige's performance.
8/10

10/10.
Best Star Trek film and my favourite movie of 1996. Great soundtrack, story and performances. A 90s classic.
