So, with the new season starting today, let's talk about the movie Lynch made.
I did not care for it the first time I saw it, but the second time was when I really started to like it.
It's rougher than the series, far less comedy or absurd characters with simple story lines.
The viewer knows how it will all end, yet that doesn't matter much. It adds a feeling of doom that works really well. The entire movie seems to be set up that way. It was never going to end well.
The major casting change worked quite well too. Moira Kelly as Donna was more enjoyable, a shame she's not returning to the show. (I think, anyway)
Anyway, a 9 for me, what are your thoughts?

5/10. Mediocre at best.
The one thing that bothers me the most is that a lot of the original cast did not return. Kyle MacLachlan (Agent Cooper) had, what, maybe a slight cameo appearance?
I don't remember much of the film because I haven't seen it in two years, but was disappointed having a marathon of the show in 2015 and watching the movie directly after the second season.
Well, now that the third season is going to premier tonight, I'll give the movie a pass. We're finally going to see the events that occurred 25 years later. Should be very interesting.
I do want to add: It's a shame that Michael Ontkean isn't returning as Sheriff Harry S. Truman. I just now found out about it.

Very little has leaked, and there was no real trailer. It's a huge cast, with most (living) actors returning. It's also supposed to take place in multiple locations, not just Twin Peaks. I believe Sheriff Truman has been recast, that is indeed quite a shame. Ontkean was great. No Eric daRe either, another shame.

A solid 8/10. I was disappointed on first viewing a few years back, because I wanted answers, but I rewatched it two nights ago and it was much better.

8/10, not Lynch's best and a very divisive film. I particularly like the opening 30 minutes or so, before it gets to Laura/Twin Peaks.

Definitely agree about Donna, though. Movie Donna was superior to Boyle's TV version in every way.

7 Loved it more at the time but I am not sure it would hold up. I am not in love with the series as much as I used to be.
