who died, specifically the night of the death, but also possibly sometime after? Some sort of form of communication, a dimming light or a vision or anything?

It did with my mom. I had something that happened shortly before the person in question died. It was a neighbor of ours who had cerebral palsy and a couple years before she died she moved from our block to a retirement village on the other side of town, in the winter she fell on the ice and broke her leg, and every time we saw her around town somebody had to push her in a wheelchair. She never recovered from it and had to be moved to another place. One night I dreamt I was at the senior citizen center and she was there and she was walking again and she was just like she had been here years earlier, and a couple days later we heard she'd died, choked to death because the nurses put her bed down too soon after feeding her.

No. Whatever weird things have happened to me, this hasn't happened to me yet.

No, but if I saw a dimming light (or something similar) the same night a loved one died, the last thing I'd attribute it to is a message from the afterlife.

Even if I did dream about a dead relative (which I have not done) I would certainly NOT attribute it to a "message" - just my own subconscious which is where dreams come from, not from a source outside us.

Yes, I have... my husband had died earlier that morning, I came home to find his Golden Retriever trying to find him - they had played 'hide and seek' a lot. I sat in his chair, crying, and asked her, "Where's Papa? Find Papa." She ran around the back of his chair, sat down and looked up at what would have been his eye level. She sat perfectly still for some time. I and my husband were both atheists. I have never been able to explain that incident, and probably never will.

Well, definitely some coincidences. A song's lyrics on random play, for example. But since the first event (death) occurred, it doesn't take much for a 2nd event to appear to connect to it.

She was a neighbor of ours, and her parents were both loaded, they couldn't be bothered having a 'retarded' child so they moved her a hundred miles away from them where she didn't have to be their problem.

Would getting a letter in the mail from a suicide on the day after he died in which he said he was sorry for the pain caused by what he was about to do, count as a "message" ?

We had a cat that every now and then would turn her head suddenly, as if someone had come in the door. Then she'd trot across the floor and sit just outside the entryway, purring. We assumed she was seeing my deceased grandmother.

Nah, and even if I did, generally speaking, it wouldn’t on its own merit prove anything.

I haven't
My stepbrother believed that if you dream of someone who is dead that they're visiting you

No, dead people don't send messages, they don't do anything.

I have, many times. My spirituality is basically exploring the limits of human potential, so I dig deep into myself and open my senses, and things can get pretty weird. The more I practice, the more sensitive I become, especially with premonitions. I think a lot of my premonitions do come from my loved ones giving me a heads up, but I really don't know how it all works. Just the other day, I had a flash of a flat tire on my car, and then a few hours later, I picked up a nail and my tire was quickly flat as a pancake. Awesome. Somehow it was even more annoying just because I knew it was going to happen. Oh well...
