...In The Cans!
Not sure what was going on... But when I went to my local Kroger here in Indiana, today, they had several 12 packs of Vanilla Coke freshly stocked on the shelves (I had trouble getting the first pack out)...
I couldn't believe what I was seeing... I though it wasn't being made anymore, at least during Covid... Due to the "Can" shortage...
I grabbed two cases... I considered getting more, since I haven't seen any on the shelves for almost a year, but I don't drink it fast, maybe just a can or two each week, as a treat, and I didn't want to hoard any and rob other fans the chance to get some...
I have to admit, I was a bit suspicious about finding some... I haven't seen anyone one else selling it again yet...
When I got home, I pulled out my last can, that I was saving since I bought my last pack, back in early spring... and the date on the bottom says: 12-27-21 TBC... I guess that means "To Be Consumed"?...
Well, the date on the packs that I just bought say 09-12-22...
I know that most "Canned" goods, do have a shelf life... But I am not sure how long Sodas are usually marked...
Is about 1 year normal, or do they marked them for a longer shelf life?
Well, Either someone found a shipment hiding in some warehouse somewhere, and it was luckily sent to my store... or, the product is being made again...
I hope it is being made again...
If any of you find any, let us know here... I'm sure many of would like to know, if this is just a fluke, or if it's being regularly made again...
Thanks In Advance.

Found some interesting information...
FYI:
Approx. 39 Weeks from... NOW... would mean that a sell by date would be around September of 2022... And the date on the packs that I just bought say 09-12-22...
So, if all this data is true... Then this product was recently manufactured, and could not have been sitting around some warehouse for nearly a year...
But, is this just a Holiday Run?

You are so damn lucky, we can only get it from one store here in 6-pack bottles and they're few and far between, every time the vanilla sells out they just double up on the diet.

I found a few 20 OZ bottles at a Walgreens, I had never been to before, last week... and I thought that was lucky, but I don't know if they are left overs from earlier this year or not... Only the lack of production in the Cans, are what is well known, to have stopped, during the middle of the year... Still trying to understand why Coca-Cola has never, or at least recently, released it in 2 Liter Bottles... May not be everyone's favorite form of drink packaging... but at least it would have been something, during the can shortage.

All they might do after a year is lose some carbonation. They put best by dates on water.
I've eaten M&Ms after years and they were fine. They just want to make sure you buy new on the next Halloween.

Last week, I stopped by the same KROGER, and they had restocked the Vanilla Coke... Same Date. Got a couple more cases...
Stopped by a WALMART, that's about ten miles away from my KROGER, today, and they had some in stock as well... It was a bit down from where the other Coke products were, but they had it!... Same Date... Picked up another case.
So now TWO different stores, in different parts of my CITY, they had recent dates, and the one store had restocked two weeks later...
Sounding promising for future finds...
BE ON THE LOOKOUT!

Vanilla Coke seemed to be MIA again for a while... Probably quickly sold out by all the demand! Saw some at a Walmart and at a Kroger, today, but I almost missed it at the first store... It seems the boxes have a new look, and it's harder to recognize! This is what it has been for the last few years: Sadly, I don't have a photo of exactly what I saw... and I'm not sure if this is a match or not but it is close: Yes, that's right, it looks more like a Cream Soda product, than a Coke one... I picked up a case of Cherry Coke right next to a stack of those when I discovered what it was. It seems as Coke is promoting their products as "Flavors" now... Cherry flavored Coke. Vanilla flavored Coke... Take Note. Yes. what I saw was the same size, same number of cans, just different artwork on the box. I can tell you though, the shelf date stamp was 12-2022... So... It's a newer batch than what I found a few months ago. Be on the look out!

Where I live in Pennsylvania, I see 12 pack 12 ounce cans at our grocery stores all the time Great! It was at least a good six months, if not longer, where I never saw any, not even a shelf tag, at well over a dozen stores I went to, except for finding a couple of 20 bottles at a couple of drug stores last fall... Many people were indicating the same thing, it was no where to be found... In fact, it seems that most of us thought they had stopped making it all together, even though that no one could get any verification as if it had been discontinued for a short term or even permanently... I'm sure that many of us here, are excited to know, that it is slowly making comeback... But it helps to know there is a new packaging to look for during our treasure hunts... Seriously though, it looks like Cream Soda now. LOL!

I think it might only be sold in certain areas.
Bottling Rights of the Dr. Pepper/Snapple/7-up company are split between Coke and Pepsi, depending on area.
And sometimes, if Coke is bottling Dr. Pepper/Snapple/7-up company, then they often don't sell their own version of the same type in the area, except for things like Sprite and colas.
Coke bottles Dr. Pepper/Snapple/7-up company in my area and where I grew up in California. They don't sell Mello Yello or Pibb in these areas because of it. But Pibb and Mello Yello are easily accessible where I last lived in the greater Seattle area because Pepsi is bottling Dr. Pepper/Snapple/7-up company products out there.

just saw this at a grocery store. I asked my friend In California if they have it at her grocery store (She was shopping at the same time as me). She said she didn't see it
