geeesh. if we started reimbursing every family for the children we killed; there'd be no monies left to siphon off into our cayman accts, let alone the upkeep on strings of vacation homes that have to be maintained.

What's that quote Noam Chomksy said? If we used the same standards we used for the Nuremberg trials, pretty much every US President after WWII would be hung? It's impossible to be President of the U.S. and not have some blood on your hands. But in terms of death and destruction no recent President can match George W Bush. But I watched as they bombed Serbia into oblivion.
Someone posted on the Politics boards about the Presidents and their death tolls. They claimed Clinton and Obama were not responsible for any deaths, and then pinned 300,000 covid deaths on Trump. Partisan bullshit.
politics in the states has become a game of crisco-laced finger pointing. each party intentionally spinning stories until enough people believe it. i can trace this back to the infamous newt gingrich memo sent to all rnc big wigs. his 'repeat, repeat, repeat' mantra was not new but in his mind he thought this would make a difference in outcomes. i can also vividly remember republicans stalling out democracy from the first day clinton was in off, through the obama administration and nothing has changed to this day. we as citizens are so invested in our military industrial complex that to contemplate living without it, is now out of the realm of questioning.
