June Allyson and Dick Powell, they also acted in a few movies together, can't remember if they played any married couple though.

Anna Neagle and Michael Wilding did a handful of movies with London places in their titles, but they were never married, he married Elizabeth Taylor that didn't last happily ever after.

To my taste, William Powell and Myrna Loy were the best. So many thought they HAD to be a real life couple because they got along so well on screen.

Reel and Real... French actor/director Robert Hossein and actress Marina Vlady married in 1955, divorcing just four years later. The couple appeared together in a few films during this period notably in the outstanding drama directed by and starring Hossein himself, Toi, le venin aka Blonde in a White Car (1958). I'm stretching this a lot, but they were an iconic couple, even though one wasn't an actor Monroe said that her and Joe had a lot of similarities, despite the common conception. She said that DiMaggio wanted a stay at home wife and that makes little sense. The famous scene from Seven Year Itch did that marriage in, but DiMaggio loved her for the rest of his life. My favorite Joe/Norma Jean story. She had just came back from a USO tour of Korea. She was over the Moon at the reception she got and told him "You have never heard such cheering". And he replied icily, "Oh yes I have." I think Marilyn forgot who Joe was at times too.

Carole Lombard and Clark Gable, are considered a "supercouple" the pair gained much attention from the media and public. They first met while filming No Man of Her Own in 1932, and later started a romantic relationship in 1936, marrying in 1939. Their blissful relationship became the saddest and most tragic real couple story from the classic era of Hollywood..... No Man of Her Own
