Mine:RiverdaleI have seen people complain about this show being everything from 'cringey' to 'trash' and I wonder, "Why bother watching it then?". You either embrace the craziness or move on. It's been a while since I found a show as interesting as this one. Yes, there are a lot of things here that you can see in other teen dramas, but there's also a lot that separates it from the rest. I personally enjoy the mixing of genres and find that doing that gives this show its own unique 'feel'. Could some of it be described as 'cringey'? Probably, but you can also find 'cringey' moments in most other shows as well if you want to look for them (though with some shows it seems like people just ignore the 'cringey' moments). I do think there are some really strong actors/actresses in this series playing the 'teens'. I've seen enough teen dramas to know that compared to some of the other ones that have existed, this cast are actually pretty decent. It's been a wild ride bingeing four seasons of this show. I didn't know what to expect when I started it, and now it feels like a show I can't do without watching. I guess I'll find out whether I can handle not having it to watch for a while, and move onto watching one of the many other shows I have on DVD now. I'm so glad I started this series, as I've really come to enjoy it (even with its faults). The release of Season 5 on DVD here can't come soon enough! EvilThis show did get pretty weird at times, but I felt it didn't verge into the 'too weird' category. Sometimes shows feel the need to get SO bizarre that they just become nonsensical, but here I was able to 'get' what was going on most of the time. What I like about this show is how it combines the 'horror' with some light humourous moments, but not to the detriment of the atmosphere they're going for. It never feels like things have descended into parody. It was such a pleasant surprise and I'm so glad I took a chance on it, as it has become one of my new favourite shows. This is the second really good series with 'horror' in it that I've watched in the past couple years (the other being The Haunting of Hill House). I highly recommend checking it out. Mr. RobotI've seen some describe this show as 'depressing', though I personally never found it super-depressing (I've watched other shows that I've found more depressing than this one). Still, it's been an interesting journey, the show explored multiple personas in a really interesting way, and was pretty interesting - which I was grateful for, especially considering that I didn't know what I was getting into when I took a chance on the show by buying the first two seasons on Blu-ray and started watching them. It's certainly 'different'. I'd say the first Season was easily the best and the fourth was the 'worst' (though still better than certain other shows' final seasons), while I'm not sure what order I'd rank the second and third seasons. I'm inclined to say I liked Season 3 a bit more than Season 2. Anyway, I'm glad I took that chance on this show, which allowed me to see Rami Malek's acting that everyone was raving about and, most importantly, I gained a newfound respect for Carly Chaikin as an actress. Even when I was bored during certain episodes, I had her character to keep me interested/entertained (especially since she had some of the best lines in the series) as well as the visual style of the show (which other shows could take notes from in how to compose visually interesting shots). This was quite a ride I went on, and I'm glad that it ended in a (mostly) satisfying/fulfilling way (which is something else other shows could take notes from). Considering I was hesitant to give it a go at first because people made out it was so 'confusing' and I thought I wouldn't be smart enough to understand it, in the end it really wasn't that hard to follow (most of the time) and the payoff for taking a chance on it proved rewarding.

I've only seen S1 of Evil, but I liked it. It's X-Files with demons instead of aliens. Main question, very, very, tough. Contenders: Squid Game Love Death and Robots S2 Lost in Space S3 Sweet Tooth The Queens Gambit Call The Midwife S1-7 Top 3: Squid Game. It kept me on the edge of my seat and I couldn't stop watching it. Lost in Space S3. Another action filled fun season with the Robinsons. I usually like my sci-fi gritty and dark, but this show is just way too much fun and has positive values about the strength of family, hard work, education, and never quitting. Love Death and Robots S2. First season was good, but S2 was fantastic. The animation and stories were exceptional.

The Good Place. Full disclosure: I will be seeing the 4th and last season in 2022. Timeless. Former broadcast network ABC canceled after the first season. Following a fan uprising, they renewed for a second but ended it after that. Seem like the show actually had some ideas in its head, it wasn’t mindless, so it had to go. Veronica Mars. Season 1. A rewatch, this time with My Lovely Wife. The epitome of noir television.

1. South Park - I'd seen a bunch of episodes over the years, but finally decided to watch it all the way through. Loved it.
2. King of the Hill - Never seen any of this before, but found it very funny and entertaining with great characters.
3. The Simpsons - Like South Park, I'd seen a bunch of episodes before. I watched through season 13. Season 1 and 10 are good, 2-9 are great. 11 was decent, 12 and 13 okay. I was aware that most fans considered the show to drop in quality and I agree. Still, the prime years were great.
My favorite show that I watched in 2021 was Everybody Loves Raymond though. I used to watch reruns with my family when I was a kid, but in November and December I decided to go through and watch it all in order. I was surprised to find out that I'd already seen damn near every episode, possibly every single one, so it counts more as a rewatch, which is why I didn't include it in my top 3.

Leaving aside Quebec shows that no one outside Quebec has even heard of (C'est comme ça que je t'aime, 5ème Rang, Faits Divers, Les Pays d'en Haut), I suppose my favourites were Squid Game, Star Trek: Lower Decks and La Casa de Papel ("The Money Heist").

Any of those shows available to watch in the US? I've been interested in watching more non-US made productions.

This is hard. I don't know if I can pick just 3. I'm gonna stick with ones that are currently still in production.
1) Dexter: New Blood - I'm a Dexter super fan. It's my favorite series of all time. I was so excited when I heard it was returning. It's yet to disappoint. It's great seeing Michael C. Hall play this character again. He never lost a beat. The writers were able to capture a lot of what I thought made the original series so great, but they've also made it feel fresh and added a new angel too.
2) See (season 2) - I liked season 1 of See well enough, however they really stepped up their game in season 2. A lot of shows have tried to emulate Game of Thrones since it found its success. I feel like See is the first show to really come close to being as good as Game of Thrones. They do a great job developing political and social themes. The cast is really strong. The show is also very exciting to watch.
3) Never Have I Ever (Season 2) - Wasn't sure about this show going in, but to my surprise it turned out to be so sweet and charming. Has a really great, funny take a being a teen in today's world. They hit on real life issues, but it doesn't feel like some after school special. They do a great job mixing drama and comedy. The cast is great too.

The ones from Quebec, I don't think so. I don't know if the producers don't even try to sell them internationally (other than in France), or if the streaming services just aren't interested. Either way, it's a shame, because some of these shows are really good.
Squid Game is from Korea and The Money Heist from Spain. Both are available on Netflix.

I loved the "Rivervale" episodes, especially the last one. At this point I'm just continuing with the show because I'm a completionist, but those episodes were a lot of fun.
Really dug the latest Curb Your Enthusiasm season as well.

The three that gave me the most joy in 2021: Killing EveHow is it possible to love such a psychopathic character such as Eve? I don't know, but I do. Twisty and fun, dark and delightful. Bring on the final season! Dexter: New BloodI loved the original series, I loved the books, hated the ending, so I was thrilled when this came along. I truly anticipate each episode. So grateful to have my show back. Resident AlienMaybe too goofy for some, but it hit the spot for me, personally. Alan Tudyk is endlessly entertaining to me. Stuck to regular TV shows, although there were a few mini-series I enjoyed like Midnight Mass and Squid Game.

The best of the few I watched Bojack Horseman (complete series, 6 seasons) Endlessly clever, inventive, and daring and at times quite heartbreaking. Probably my new favorite animated series Curb Your Enthusiasm (season 10) While it doesn't quite pack the same sting as it did in it's earlier seasons, still a very enjoyable and funny show BrandNewCherryFlavor (limited series) Stylish, lurid, Lynchian thriller
