The last one that I was (pretty) successful at was from about 4 years ago. Buy whole chickens, and cut them into their various pieces, rather than buy individual parts. I still buy "parts," for certain dishes. But, it's a real savings to cut up a whole bird. I don't de-bone, so I buy boneless parts for kebabs, stir fry, etc..
This year, I'm hoping to find a better means of general organization. My kitchen is large, in terms of floor space. But, I tend to amass clutter on table/counter surfaces. I, also, want to find a better organizational system for herbs/spices.
We'll see.

Yep, Nuts. Frozen peas are essential for soups and stews.
That reminds me that reorganizing the freezer should be included in my kitchen (maybe) resolution.

I always keep a big bag of frozen peas to use as an ice pack. I put it in a Hefty freezer bag so if some peas spill out, they stay in the freezer bag. I like peas and always have a few boxes of Green Giant baby peas in butter sauce in the freezer. When I used to make beef stew, I would put them in the stew right before I served the stew, otherwise they would get mushy (I nuked them first.)

I need to fire that bad boy up this year! Here is my take on Gas VS Charcoal grills. I think food on charcoal grills tastes better. But with that being said I use my gas grill more just because of the convenience. But many times last summer when I was cooking for myself I would fire up my charcoal grill and have a beer or two while making this:
