It gives you a lot of information about his life in every way.
Let's say it didn't give you much information on his wife, let's say.
But it did give slightly more inforformation on his kids. Compared to his wife.
Would that be a flaw in the book? The fact that it didn't give a lot of information about his wife?
That was maybe a strange question.

I just wanna say, it's probably a good thing the book didn't go into that. Unncecessary.

Might you tell us what book(s) you are speaking of?

It makes perfect sense. His wife is an independent person who has her own life and accomplishments. She's not an extension of him. Why would her life be covered in his biography? I don't read some fool's biography to find out about his wife. If the wife influences, affects, makes possible, makes difficult, etc the writer's work then discussing her is very much in order. You’ll never read a biography of F Scott Fitzgerald without some information about Zelda.

I have read many biographies but I cannot remember ever reading one about an author. But what you say makes perfect sense. An author's spouse is a big part of the author's life and would kind of be the "elephant in the living room" if no mention at all was made. Then again, the spouse is not always a public figure and does not always want to be in the public eye, so it also makes sense that not much would be said in some cases.

It didn't go into her life that much really. Except one person said she looked 'unintelligent.' And also, she never read any of this authors 4 books ever.
