They forgot cat food, it continues to rise in price and there are shortages, just the cat food - not the dog food. I don't use cereal, mayo and only buy eggs when I'm baking a cake. I buy my chicken from Schwan's and it has risen in price. I mostly buy frozen veggies and so far the prices have stayed the same.

I guess the better question is what foods will not cost more in 2022.

Speaking of ground beef, a pound of 95% lean was over $8 last week. I rarely buy any beef now, unless it's a good sale. I miss roasts and stew meat. WKM is right about cat food. My kitties have been very unhappy lately. They're used to certain brands, certain flavors and it's almost impossible to keep them stocked now or if I find them, like on Amazon the price is double the normal.
There were several empty shelves this week...no name brand saltines, only a few store brand (which is what I buy anyway), no canned cat food, the bread aisle was iffy, and no frozen biscuits (I buy those for my mom)for several weeks now.

"I miss roasts and stew meat." On Sunday I bought a very small chuck roast, to cut up for stew. Not only was it outrageously expensive ... $16.00 for less than 2 pounds ... but it was terrible quality. It was very gristly. Had I realized that, I wouldn't have bought it. I was able to justify the price because a stew will last several meals, for me. "My kitties have been very unhappy lately. They're used to certain brands, certain flavors and it's almost impossible to keep them stocked now or if I find them, like on Amazon the price is double the normal." In last night's monologue, Stephen Colbert spoke of product shortages. When he came to cat food, he feigned a fear that, if kitties became unhappy enough, they'll start eating -- US! I'm being extra nice to my neighbor's kitty, who visits me every day.
