people talk about how long Freddy Vs Jason Batman Vs Superman Justice League and Alien vs Predator stayed in development hell
but it seem like He-Man is stuck in permanent hell it was given a December 18 2019 release date not too long ago but alas nothing came of it. then moved to March 5 2021, it looks like all the covid stuff killed off any momentum it had as the guy set to portray He-Man is no longer attached to the project

Hard to say. I think the problem they run into right off the bad is who would you even cast as He-Man? I guess the cynical answer would be Dwayne Johnson since he's in everything, but I think by then he'd be too old to even consider for another try.

I was thinking about this recently. I concluded there isn't a single director working right now that has a passion for the show. Sadly I don't think anyone cares enough about the property.
This is an unpopular opinion but that Noah kid would've been fucking perfect as He-Man. Perfect. But people just have to shit on everything and they ruined it.

I heard something about how the next film is going to be a Netflix exclusive now, but I don’t know how accurate that is.

The problem is by the time they find someone to direct who is also passionate about the material, those guys may be too old. Perhaps they're better off finding a lesser known actor and just surround him with big name stars playing other parts.

Kellen Lutz expressed interest awhile back about portraying the character before Centineo was cast

What about Lou Ferrigno Jr. as He-man?
Josh Brolin as Man-At-Arms and Howie Mandel voicing Orko?
Dave Bautista as Ram Man?

Don't give Spartan something else to complain about. You know Gandhi is dead right? ...Yeah, but what does that have to do with anything?

You know Gandhi is dead right? ...Yeah, but what does that have to do with anything? Because Spartan has been history for quite sometime now.

The directors talk about Kyle Allen's casting during an interview:
Adam Nee said that the MOTU property is something they seek to capture the nostalgia and empowerment of, saying, "I think with Masters of the Universe, for us, from growing up with it, we just wanted to make something that captured that fun and color and bright and vibrance and the empowerment that it gave little kids. We just wanted to capture that. So that's what we hope to have." Aaron Nee commented on the casting of Allen, citing the desire to bring new audiences on the adventure and feel that Allen is the right person to embody that. Here's his quote:
Yeah, and Kyle's perfect for it because we also want to take a new audience on this adventure. So we're treating it as an origin story, and Kyle, there's not a more perfect person to come in and embody that.

Speaking to Variety on Monday at the premiere of their film “The Lost City” at the Regency Village Theatre in L.A., the Nee brothers teased what fans can expect from Allen in the role. “He has such incredible emotional vulnerability, he’s just an amazing dramatic actor, but he’s funny like Michael J. Fox,” Adam said. “Like he has this special thing, this energy that is very rare in an actor. Then you add on top of that, he is trained in like all forms of martial arts, he is a swordsman, he does parkour, he can do everything, so the amount of Jackie Chan-style crazy action stuff we’re gonna be able to do in this movie is gonna blow people away.”

When looking to the future and their Masters of the Universe movie, the duo confirmed filming would begin by Spring 2023 and shared new details regarding their indie approach to the He-Man project and developing the world of Eternia for live-action. See what Aaron Nee shared below: "It's so important to us that we don't shortchange this material. This is a huge movie, but it feels like it's our baby. It feels like we've got the the kind of closeness and affection that we would have for an indie project. It's so important to us that we get to take the audience to Eternia in a way where it feels like a rich, well-developed real place, like you are going to a real world and experiencing a real culture. Then also just having the kind of attention to detail for the adventure elements and all of those things and the costuming and the build time for all of those things, nothing is rushed, it's [being] done right."screenrant.com/masters-universe-movie-eternia-details/
