After the war in Europe was won in May 1945, the US made General George S. Patton military governor of Bavaria. He was such a great fighter, why didn't they transfer him to the Pacific theater to help in the fight against the Japanese?

Maybe he and Bull Halsey would have both rode Hirohito's white horse in downtown Tokyo.
Off track a bit, I just read that Hirohito kept a diary for his whole life. I bet a lot of historians would give a limb to read it. But no, the Japanese will never allow it. Still a touch of divinity in the Emperors
