Thank you, Ill tell that to my husband that you said that ) Yes I think I am completelly recovered, thank God. Going to have my antibodies measured next week. my daughter had her blood test Thursday. Many of the people in front of us were getting antibody tests. Is that common after having covid? or is that to make sure the vaccines have worked? I wondered about that, but kind of forgot until you mentioned. Yeaaaa! glad you are all well. PS my husband would probably be shocked if he heard people think I'm sweet. Living with someone is difficult!! (understatement!!) for me its a more scientific approach to being able to gauge my immunity system response (but you have to have both the igg and the memory cells measured). My first covid infection did Nothing to my antibodies, my first vaccine dose also nothing, the second vaccine does did a BIT, but then each 2 months it kept dropping, and just before I got reinfected it dropped back to negative. So I want to see if Omikron did a different number on my immunity response then Delta had a year ago. Its the hypochondriac slash curious mind in me )))

I’ve actually signed a few autographs. Mind you, that was back in the days when I produced small press comics so wore a comics creator badge at conventions. Most times I doubt the person asking for the autograph really knew who I was. As an Elf Quest fan, I have to ask: when you attended cons as a comics creator, did you ever meet Wendy and/or Richard Pini?

When I was a little girl, I received an autograph book as a gift, and mostly passed it around to my schoolmates and a few of my teachers. (I mean, I was about nine years old--what kind of celebrities would I be likely to meet?
The only autograph I remember getting as an adult was when I was in college, and I had a roommate who was a big fan of Isaac Asimov. As it happened, he was appearing at a nearby SF con, so I went there and requested his autograph for my roomie. Unfortunately he exacted a price: he demanded a kiss (yes, on the lips!).
So I gave my roomie that hard-won signature, but the Asimov experience kind of put me off seeking autographs.

I did a quick Google to see if they ever attended a UKCAC convention in London and it looks like they never went to those.

Most times I doubt the person asking for the autograph really knew who I was. I know some folks who publish slush fiction. They do, or did, a fast business at the conventions. I got one short publish in one anthology. I’m very proud of that. I got to check off “professional author” on my bucket list. I used to call myself a semi-professional comic producer and even that was hyping myself above my true status.

Josh Davis. He won three golds at the the '96 Olympics. He later won two silvers at the '00 Olympics. He was giving out autographs at a Spurs game sometime in '97 IIRC. Found the autograph not too long ago in an old folder I had stored away in a box.

LOTS - primarily hockey players. I've been collecting junior hockey player autographs for the past 25+ years. For the past 20+ years, I have been getting cards autographed. I did also do pucks, but not as much lately.
For celebrities - the only one I have purchased for myself was a Christmas bauble autographed by Lauren Ash. She played Dina on the hit show "Superstore". I wanted to get hers because she is Canadian!
At a show a few years ago, someone was selling autographed pictures for $5 or 6 for $25. The one that caught my eye was Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy from Buffy The Vampire Slayer).

A few, mostly sports figures. The big bump in sports memorabilia in the 80's got me. I won an autographed Roger Maris baseball in a poker game. I wanted it a lot because Mickey Mantle was due to be at a card show soon and I thought an autographed "M&M Boys" ball would be valuable. The card shows usually had celebrity signers, Sandy Koufax, Willie Mays, Wayne Gretzky, etc. The autographs and the cards go to my grandson.
Fun story about Mantle. He was quite intoxicated at the card show. My soon to be wife went with me and caught the Mick's eye. Well, her backside did and Mantle made a very loud quote about it. His manager overheard and told him what an ass (pun intended) he was being. When I got to Mantle, he was quite apologetic, signed three items when there was a one item limit and talked to us for about 10 minutes, 9.5 minutes longer than everyone else.

Sort of. I once went to see Elisapie, a Quebec Inuit singer, perform in a relatively small venue. After the show, she was signing copies of her new album. I bought one and waited in line for her to sign it.
I also have a DVD of The Godfather signed by Francis Ford Coppola himself. My sister met him and asked him to sign it. He misspelled my name but that's OK.
