Steve Buscemi straddled the punk / new wave no-wave cinema scene, the rise of alternative cinema and the independents, and the birth of indie respectability and its initation in to the mainstream./
Mr. Pink tells his story ...
He was beloved by John Cassavetes and Robert Altman, Jim Jarmusch and Spike Lee, Dennis Dugan and Dan Scanlon ...
Trailer for 'In The Soup'
He once was a laughing stock, today, he's the last of the old school .... fortunately, they aren't laughing quite so hard anymore ...

He’s fantastic in everything FYP Buscemi really is a national treasure. I also thought he owned the lead role in Boardwalk Empire (as Nucky Thompson ) So glad Scorsese cast him int that role. He can do everything so well and effortlessly (whether it be a serious dramatic role or a comedic role or a funny cameo in some Adam Sandler movie, it doesn't matter. He always delivers the goods)

Without fanfare or publicity ! That is utterly incredible. I was honestly never aware that he was a fire fighter. Wow. Just when I thought Buscemi couldn't get any cooler... what a great guy!

Also I highly recommend the underrated/under seen indie comedy Delirious that came out way back in 2006. Buscemi plays a low life paparazzi guy and befriends a young homeless guy (played by Michael Pitt who was also his co star in Boardwalk Empire)

He was on that trace your ancestors show and made the comment that it was ironic that one of his ancestors was a dentist.

He was on that trace your ancestors show and made the comment that it was ironic that one of his ancestors was a dentist. that is hilarious. Buscemi is the shit! Not surprised at all that he has such a self depreciating sense of humor (it shows in a lot of his performances) Another great performance I forget to mention of his is in Ghost World. He was fantastic in that and was quick witted on screen with all those young actresses (Thora Birch & ScarJo ) I need to give that film a re watch sometime cause its been so long since I 've seen it. Luckily I own it on dvd.
