A scene reenacted for tonight's ep: That dress color looked terrific on Bette. It looked nice with her complexion and her hair color. Susan Sarandon's reenactment of that scene however was dull and lifeless. She looked like an android. This was a really good episode. Once again Jessica Lange knocked it out of the ballpark. She deserves to win awards for this performance. And Alfred Molina too! Considering he's British, his American accent is spot-on.

I think the only problem I have is when Sarandon acts as Davis acting as Baby Jane. Sarandon's deeps guttural yells seem to be channeling Queen Narissa more than Bette Davis.

A scene reenacted for tonight's ep: WHOA ! That scene was completely uncanny indeed OrsonSwelles . Just got through watching last nights episode today with that very reenacted scene in it ( from On-Demand ) and by the way it was an excellent episode too . Susan Sarandon did this scene quite spot-on with the singing and even the dress she wore with the swaying was exact in every way as well . Thanks so much OrsonSwelles for sharing this classic YouTube video clip of Bette Davis here too .

I can't get through an episode without pausing it and looking into the history of these two characters. I hope after the series is done that they have a mini documentary on the making of WEHtBJ. I think the fans of this miniseries would love it.

Bette also mentioned Joan in one of her autobiographies called "This 'N That".

Thanks for the recommendation.

The guy who played Bruce Dern, despite having only two lines, definitely stole episode 6! Wonderful job!

The more I watch "Feud", the more I long for a big Hollywood movie about Bette. It could be called "Bette Davis: More Than A Woman" or "Bette Davis: She Did It The Heard Way". I just wonder which actress could play her.

Kind of ran out of gas for this. Two last episodes unwatched on the DVR, and I'm not finding myself interested anymore.
I was enjoying it the first 3-4. I'm not someone who needed the "Baby Jane" references, etc, either. I'm good with a personality struggle, even a slow burn one. But I ran out of gas with this.

Last night's final episode was a bit disappointing. I didn't like the scene where Joan sees Hedda, Jack, and Bette again. It seemed like it was just a filler scene. But anyway, now that the series has ended, I want to see how it's going to fare at the Emmys later this year.

The show started strong and floundered towards the end

Sarandon IMO is the only one worthy for consideration. Yikes, not for me. Susan resembles Bette, but in terms of her acting, it was as if she was just playing herself. Susan playing Susan trying to do a Bette Davis impression. Jessica, on the other hand, really shined showing many different facets of Joan. I especially liked her drunken moments. She deserves to win awards for this performance.

I hope Jessica Lange gets nominated but Susan Serandon? accepts the award on behalf of Nicole Kidman (for her role in Big Little Lies).

Sure, the finale was more of a wrap up than a big exciting twist or a breathtaking ending. I think the series was more about the journey than the ending. Both ladies were more similar than they would ever admit. It was hinted at that both women were chewed up and used (Hagsploitation) via Hollywood Studios and it had a negative effect on their later lives and families. It was a slow burn, but I did enjoy it quite a bit. It definitely is not for everyone. I understand why people would get bored.

What a truly powerful and awesome finale for such a wonderful show! I did not expect this episode to be so emotional and it made me cry on quite a few occasions. Bravo to everyone involved in this beautifully executed project, especially to Susan Sarandon & Jessica Lange, who both deserves a truck load of nominations for best acting. I'm buying this first season as soon as it comes out on DVD/Blu-Ray.

IMPO - It does make us folks see how things were not a bed of roses for these two ladies in Hollywood ( along with the other strong trail blazing women of the big screen and of their time as well - also these ladies were graceful survivors too ) . Also Fantoma without a doubt the DVD / Blu-Ray Collection will be well worth it too . IMPO - I think Ryan Murphy did a wonderful job with this true life story also .

Susan Sarandon looks just like Bette Davis.

I loved the finale. It managed to break my heart for both Bette & Joan. The scene at the table in Joan's hallucination was really well acted.

I totally agree persephone that was my top favorite scene in this last episode too . My other favorite scene was the very last one when Joan had said ( not exact statement here but an overview of it ) that when they were done with the baby Jane movie that she would hope to make a new friend with Bette after it .

Let's see, there were: (1) the seething, jealous Joan (2) the drunken, crying Joan (3) the drunken shouting Joan (4) the drunken, shouting and crying Joan who threw things (5) the smoking, crying, shouting and drunken Joan (6) the insane Joan (7) the slightly senile Joan And that's pretty much it.
