Music is not exactly top tier nowadays, but I don't find myself venturing into anything I haven't heard before, even older stuff from decades past.

Love branching out. Listening to a lot of "Hauntology" stuff of late plus some early American westcoast hardcore.

I branch out to new artists frequently, but not to new genres. For example, the compilation I'm currently listening to in my car consists of twelve albums, and only four them (one third) are by artists I already knew. The remaining two-thirds are by new (to me) artists.

Listening to a lot of "Hauntology" stuff Have liked some of that for some time, before I even knew the term, Broadcast for example. Have started exploring it more recently. Some great stuff. Actually listening to this right now

I've listened to music from a lot of different genres, too many to list here off the top of my head. American, Caribbean, Latin American, Brazilian, European, African and Asian.
I don't need to tell many people on here about US music. Early Calypso music is pretty interesting. Cumbia is a genre that's generally ignored in the US from Latin America. Choro is an old music genre from Brazil that goes back to the 1800's. Laiko music from Greece has an interesting haunting sound that's similar to much Middle Eastern music. From Africa, Cape Verde in particular, there's Cesaria Evora, who was known for Mornas among other styles of music. And for Asia I've listened to some Mongolian throat singing metal. Interesting stuff.
I'm not going to pretend to be an expert on any of these kinds of music but I figured I'd talk about them.

Though not as much as I used to, I still like to explore new artists and genres. At least new to me. I admit I don't keep up with much "brand new" music these days.

Actually listening to this right now There's some great stuff on the Ghost Box label...This was my last purchase from them... Got some Belbury Poly myself, this most recently... Broadcast and the Focus group's "witch Cults" is a must have, of course.

Broadcast is still the "gold standard", but I've enjoyed most of the Ghost Box stuff also, not sure I've heard that particular Pye Corner one yet, so might give it a listen today. Outside of that, I'm only familiar with Boards of Canada and William Basinski who I've heard labelled as such, though I always thought of as more of an ambient artist.

Always up for discovering something new.
A whole new genre almost nobody listens to has grabbed my attention. Dark Ambient. The dark ambient artists like Robert Rich, Steve Roach, Lustmord, Vidna Obmana etc.

I have seen no outstanding musical genres created in the 21st century. Just an occasional catchy tune. However, we are all very fortunate to have such a wealth of great music from the past that we will never run out of things to discover.

The film it's a soundtrack to is well worth watching too. "Zoviet france" are very good too and of course the Granddaddies of the movement "Coil", you can everything back to TG really.
