www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/60037044Left-winger who won 6 European Cups (CL) and many many others. I saw him at Hampden Park in 1961 when RMA beat Eintracht Frankfurt 7-3, in front of a crowd that was in excess of 125000. That RMA team included Puskas and De Stephano, who scored all 7 goals between them as well as Santamaria, Luis del Sol and others. In spite of these stars, Gento was the one who caught my eye. He was a very orthodox winger, hugging the touchline and had great pace. Incidentally, The Germans beat Rangers in the semi-final, 6-1 and 6-3, while RMA beat Barca 3-1 and 3-1.

From the wording I was expecting this to be about an 18yo prodigy who died 70 years ago.
RIP all the same.

From the wording I was expecting this to be about an 18yo prodigy who died 70 years ago. RIP all the same. I was already alive in 1971 and I am nowhere near 70 years old!
