$402 million of dollars. 48% at RT.
This is it. A real movie with a compelling and intense story, great acting performances, groundbreaking special effects and TRUE character development has been obviously "overlooked" and virtually forgotten within 1 month from the release.
MCU people want "toy, kiddie" movies like "Far From Home". That's the truth.
To me, Eternals is a beautiful movie, despite an awful, forced mid-credits scene designed to sell the boring "shared universe" concept.

Eternals is in the MCU as well though, you know.

That's the point. So why didn't it gross at least 800 million dollars?

Just watched it. No clue why it’s considered one of the worst MCU movies. 8/10

Adding Harry Styles and his talking garden gnome friend to the movie didn't make it a kiddie movie to you? How many well adjusted adults are fans of One Direction and gnomes you clown.

I think what really hurt this movie was Gemma Chan's acting. If they put a more charismatic female lead to match Richard Madden's acting then it probably would have gained far more appreciation. As it is, I think it's a good, solid movie, just not a great one. I certainly enjoyed it better than at least a third of the MCU movies, maybe even half, but I wouldn't put it at the level of Far From Home.

Age of Ultron was more comic accurate, so yeah no one cares for Eternals.

Age of Ultron was more comic accurate, so yeah no one cares for Eternals. I don’t think very many people cared all that much about how different the Eternals movie was from the source material. The comics are generally seen as one of Jack Kirby’s lesser works.

I understand the criticisms, but the cinematography and ambition alone make this one better than at least half the MCU. I’m still surprised this one got a lower RT score than movies like Iron Man 3, Captain Marvel, and Far From Home.

The plan of the Deviants was better than their design and yes Gemma Chan was as dull as dogshit.

I'd just assume that the critics review bombed it because of the director, Chloe Zhao.

I thought it was great, but I think it was such a departure from typical MCU fare that audiences didn't know what to do with it. People say it suffers from a lack of a main character, and I can see that although I found each character compelling in their own way. I will say there's a ton of material to digest and it would've made a better streaming series than film; still a fascinating watch. It's top tier MCU for me.

Tonight's the night I intend to give it the good old college try. I've been expecting good things, and although it doesn't always work out this way, I find a polarizing movie is more promising than a universally lauded one. I like the director, I loved Nomadland, and I like superhero/comic book movies that deviate from the formula just as much as ones that fit into it perfectly.
So here's to hope. *thumbs up*

Watched today and enjoyed it. It could definitely be a little tighter with a more clear cut story focus as I think it does spread itself out a little thin in ways...but I definitely had a good time watching it and loved just the overall potential it creates.
Seeing the Celestial appear over London gave me hope some day we'll get a proper Galactus adaptation.

It's just a shame there had to be a whole movie prior to those scenes.

I liked all the characters and plotlines but I do think they suffered from having to check into so many different ones that not many of them felt that deep. But Im very interested to see this plotline continue with Celestials and Eternals and Deviants and world destruction...hopefully Galactus shows up and whatnot.

What kind of BS response is this?
