Two examples in the action-adventure genre that play every jungle/safari trope with a bit of a smirk. Richard Chamberlain is the glue that holds it all together. I quite like him in these movies.

Megaforce (1982). I think if the Cannon Group got the rights to G.I. Joe, this is what the movie would look like.
And this is the signature gesture between the hero (Barry Bostwick) and his love interest (Persis Khambatta).

"An aria of violence grips the opera world. And terror strikes the twilight existence of the transvestite" coos the blurb on my extremely rare VHS copy seductively... Charlotte Rampling plus a "meatwhistle surprise" moment that predates THE CRYING GAME by 5 years . Its free on dailymotion but age restricted so I think that means you need to create an account to watch . Enjoy. MASCARA

An Olympic trained gymnast is recruited as a spy for the CIA. Then he travels to a Central Asian country to participate in a brutal tournament. And uses his gymnastic skills to fight bad guys.

Obvious but true. Plan 9 is an incredibly bad movie. Dopey plot, childish special effects, laughable acting, some of the most moronic dialogue in history. Couldn't Ed Wood hear that "visits? Why that would indicate visitors" is a stupid line. But, in the end, movies are mean to entertain. And Plan 9 is highly entertaining. Having never saw it at that time, I was looking for this in the video rental store in the Sci-Fi section. I was disappointed that the section did not have it. I browse around the store, and later saw it at the comedy section. As a comedy, it is not bad. I don't know if MST3K has a version. I would love to watch it if they have one.

Some said there was too much dialogue, some said it was like shooting fish in a barrel. Only two movies were rejected by MST3K, other than copyright issues. The other being this gem, for obvious reasons
But they never did The Terror of Tiny Town, Reefer Madness, They Saved Hitler's Brain
