I used to read movie and TV show reviews on the old board. I thought it was gone forever several years ago, but here it is. Was there a sports board in the old days? The sports board was THE place to be. It's where all the magic happened. So, it's been around for decades?

I used to post on the IMDb boards. Then when it closed, or just before, I saw this board was starting up, so I joined. I like this board, but I still miss the old IMDb ones. I wish they'd bring those back.

I wasn't really active in the beginning, but became more active as time went on. I know Goodman pre-dates me, and some of other guys who aren't around - Pops, BoSox, triple double, and Marco to name a few.

I joined IMDb in 2001 but never got to be a "regular" on the sports board for a few years. Silly me, I wasted time talking about movies. I didn't really start up there until the 2004 ALCS. don't forget Suleminagic (sp?), DeNiro_Scorsese, Butters and Strelnikoff. Hell, I probably forgot a few. It was the place to be, especially if you wanted to chat about The Deer Hunter. Or when the Red Sox moved into their season long home.

2003-2004 was the golden age of the Yanks-Sox rivalry. It must have attracted many new regulars to the sports board at that time.

Before IMDb, I never was in any forum befor IMDb. I joined IMDb in 2002, but 2004 was the year I made my first post in any of the IMDb board (or any forums) on The Bicycle Thief board. I posted very sparingly. Took me another couple years before I posted comfortably and regularly in the forum.

Forgot Wolfman, the fan of all things Pittsburgh, deusexmachina, undocorkscrew, the baseball fact king, Tristam, vincentlecaviellerswife. And the infamous Danielle_Campbell. I know I've forgot some

Well, me and a couple of my buddies were once out on our boat, drinking and fishing. We ran afoul of a fierce storm and the intense waves caused our vessel to capsize. I washed ashore on a deserted island in the middle of Lake Erie. After recovering my strength, I explored the island to see if I could find a proper source of food or a way to make a raft. I made my way into the interior of the island which was densely covered in a variety of tropical flora, and happened upon a rather frightening looking cave. As I stood at the cave's mouth trying to decide if I should enter, I heard a whisper carried from the center of the cave to my location by a faint breeze of wind beckoning me to enter. Braving the unknown, I made my way inside. After carefully walking around inside for what felt like hours, I began to see a light. Figuring this was a way out, I cautiously approached the light. As the light grew closer, I was able to make it out what was in front of me in more detail. It wasn't a light emitted from the sun, but a light being emitted from, of all things, a computer. A simple desktop computer placed on top of a large stone slab with a makeshift keyboard, and was being powered by an unknown source. I touched the keyboard and the screen, which had previously displayed a Windows screensaver now displayed a webpage that I was unfamiliar with. At the top of the page, there was a banner that read "IMDB v2.1, Internet Media Discussion Boards".

Just came over from the old IMDB sports board.
It’s not bad here, but it’s nowhere as good as the old board.

You can still do that on movie chat.org, although the traffic is a fraction of that of the old IMDb boards. Moviechat also has all the dead movie-specific boards from IMDb.

Old IMDb, joined August 2001 Wow! that long. Late 2005 for me and then jumped into this lifeboat. Thankfully it was the best lifeboat that left that bastardly Amazon ship.

Same here. It was great to de-brief immediately afterwards, ask questions, get reactions. I also liked reading the boards of favorite TV series like Mad Men, Six Feet Under, The Wire and others.

Strel was an interesting character. He was a regular in the Classic Film Board too. Very smart fellow, but gets very angry easily to rile up the place. He does apologize when he realize he is wrong, at least to me. He suddenly disappeared. The board did miss his presence.
