The classic example would be tomatoes. PLENTY of people that won't eat "raw" tomatoes, but wouldn't THINK of living life without their ketchup, or without tomato sauce on/in their pasta/pizza.  Anything you like/love if it's done a certain way, but don't care for when prepared in other ways, or in other forms ??  SAVE FERRIS

I like bananas, but hate them sliced.
I like pineapple, but not on pizza.
I can think of plenty of things I won't eat with certain additions, but nothing where I require a specific addition.
I have an annoying friend staying with me who has to have certain things if she has other things. She eats like a child and then complains about all her maladies due to eating like a child. Her breakfast this morning was a chocolate cupcake, potato chips which she goes through mindlessly, and Coke. I make a huge salad and I'm the only one who eats it. She says she's off fast food then goes to taco Bell. I only feel helpful when I make oatmeal for her, which she of course dumps brown sugar on.
I'm making a beef stew, which she likes, so that should help. Though she complained it smelled like fish. Also won't eat anything with spice, from black pepper up.

Olives, sort of. For the longest time I really disliked them and would just never eat them in any way, shape or form. Then I started eating them when served whole, as appetizers – but don’t even think of putting olive pieces in a sauce or as a pizza or sandwich topping if you want me to eat it!

Having a garden can make for occasional picky eating ...
Won't eat raw store bought or restaurant tomatoes because they are never properly ripe ....
even not quite ready garden tomatoes are better than those !

I love most fish/seafood. Onions are a gift from Mother Nature. But, onions have no place in the preparation of anything that lived in water.

She loves the taste of jalapenos, but won't eat any and wishes she could. I can easily add spice to mine after cooking in 100 different ways. The stew gets chocolate ghost pepper salt.

I don't like cheese on vegetables unless I sprinkle some parmesan/feta on it myself. So, no "cauliflower/broccoli cheese". Also don't really like anything baked with cheese (lots and lots of cheese, that is). But I will EAT cheese until the cows come home. Almost any and all kinds.
Meat has to be well done.
Will reject anything that has come into contact with any melon.
I'm sure there's more, can't think of any now.
