Update: Seems it was a problem on Comcast's end. Finally got through to someone. They said there seems to be a problem with my modem and that they'd "work on it". That was over an hour ago, so I decided to check out the internet right now and it seems to be working fine.
Original post:
I can't connect to almost any webpage I try to access. IMDb, Reddit, my local library, Walmart. I can access them though mobile, though. I thought maybe my Kaspersky internet firewall was acting up, but even when I turned it off, I still can't access these sites. I can access YouTube and Google just fine. Tried isitdownrightnow to see if these sites are working, but that site wouldn't load. A similar site, downforeveryoneorjustme, says they are working fine.
Tried resyncing the clock because one site I was able to access suggested this, but the syncing failed.
Update: rebooted the modem. Couldn't access Google for a minute, but now I can. YouTube still works.
Update 2: The Xfinity "my account" app says my modem is not connected. However, I can still access some sites (tried Instagram and Outlook, and both load fine), and my wifi connection works fine for my phone. I tried connecting my PC through wifi, but the problem persisted.
Update 3: Another update. I think the Xfinity app might have been saying I wasn't connected because I had the cable box powdered off (I turn off the power strip It's connected to overnight, thought the pc and modem stat connected through another strip). After I turned the power back on for the cable box, the app said I was all connected. I also looked at the outage map on the Xfinity app, and there are none in my area.
