Whether we're in a car travelling at a VERY high rate of speed, or sitting in a jet flying HUNDREDS of miles an hour, why do we only feel the brief sensation of acceleration during takeoff (or the initial speed up when in a car), but once up in the air (or reaching top speed in the car), do we lose any and all sensation of forward movement, even travelling at those tremendous speeds ?? Also, is that something that (theoretically) is potentially limitless, no matter how fast we might ever be able to travel? In other words, if we were somehow able to fly on something going a MILLION miles an hour (assuming, of course, it were ever possible), would the same exact thing happen.......that we would feel the initial acceleration, but that once we reached that top speed, we would no longer feel anything ?? The answer is in the question, we feel acceleration. When we accelerate there is a force acting on our vehicle that changes its rate of velocity. The vehicle then pushes us and changes our velocity, so we feel a force that is indistinguishable from gravity. If we were ghosts, the plane would pass through us when it accelerated and we would feel nothing. This makes more sense if you imagine a spaceship in a vacuum so we can disregard friction and Earth gravity. Beyond that is getting above my education but I think it's about time (as in space-time). Gravity is a consequence of time; velocity is distance over time. Some physicists say the push from acceleration is the same as gravity, others say it isn't, but both relate to time and both cause the same result so you be the judge.

We feel Acceleration, because our bodies want to remain at "rest".... We feel Deceleration, because our bodies want to remain at "speed"... We feel turns, because or bodies want to continue moving in a straight line...
When our bodies are traveling in the same way as the transportation device... There are no conflicting "forces" affecting us.

Of course, the entire experience would get accentuated by a front window view.
