I'm stuck between quarter and dollar because I don't know if a gumball would count and cans of pop used to be like 32 cents.

I remember when apples and blackberries were fruit, a laptop was somehing you only got when you sat down, a window was something you looked through and "the cloud" contained water... if you were lucky.

The latest Marvel & DC comics... Ten cents apiece -- and you found 'em at the drug store in those twirling, column-like racks.

Catman also remembers that great day back in the 70s when Mad Magazine lowered their price ... by moving the price to the bottom corner of the cover.

I remember when kids played outside, climbing trees, and building forts, and riding bikes all over the neighborhood until the street lights came on, and then they knew they had to go home. Today, parents would probably be charged with child endangerment if they did that.

Today, parents would probably be charged with child endangerment if they did that. Catdad often told the story of when he and a buddy were coming home from an afternoon hunting when a block away a streetlight turned on. His buddy said, "Bet you can't hit that light!" Catdad said, "Bet I can!" And he took aim and fired. Nothing happened at first, and his buddy said, "Hah! You missed!" Then the streetlight flickered and went out. They ran like hell.

When microwave ovens, cordless phones and VCR's were high tech devices. When every store lobby had a cigarette machine When the gas station I worked for had issues because gas went over $1 a gallon and the pumps didn't have the extra digit. When the person at a store checkout had to find a pricetag and punch keys on a clunky cash register When you had to crank the handle to roll down a car window When you had to grab an encyclopedia (Vol 20 T-Te) to find a simple fact
