Science fiction show about two enemy factions settling in an alien planet. Season 1 started off very well but kind of went off the rails towards the end. I am still planning on watching season 2.
It's on HBO Max.

Really? That's disappointing. I wanted to see how things would be resolved between the new android and mother.

I just recently started and finished this show. WOW! So strange, yet totally engrossing. Lots of religious and mythological stuff. It's like watching the Bible or Greek Mythology unfold real time, but in the form of a sci fi show about androids and humanity. Got real strange in season 2, and the finale was a little meh, but I like the show a lot overall. -Is the Entity itself Sol or just pretending to be Sol. At first, I thought it was pretending to be Sol to lure believers into doing his bidding, however given that there are so many artifacts on the planet and the ancient humans already worshipped Sol, it's fair to say the Entity/lifeform is Sol. Same imagery on two completely separate planets referencing the same religion. I don't know what it's goals are, but it appears to be a very real life form and an evil one that likes toying with people. One of the characters (I think it was a med droid helping Mother) mentions something about Mithraics not even understanding the dark photons; the main component in Necromancer's power. That it came directly from Sol. Divinely inspired, even. Sol sent them the knowledge to make Necromancers. I'm trying to figure out if human life came from Keplar 22b or they just existed on both planets and met their demise there long before Earth did. I'm guessing Keplar has a nuclear war too. -Grandmother appears to be aligned against "Sol" even though she's kinda evil too. Hell, I think Mother is pretty awful, but Grandmother is worse with the whole devolution thing. Mother is disturbed and erratic, Grandmother knowningly chooses that route for the whole species.
-Has to be more to the fruit from the Sue Tree. Sue mutated because of Sol. Sol isn't good. That fruit has to serve a larger purpose. Knowing Sol, it was to hurt people. Eating the tree turned 7 into a stronger creature. Maybe the tree's purpose was that?
