I am interested in this, but not sure how I feel about it yet. I wanted to be good, but am not overly impressed with the trailers for the first movie.
I haven't been blown away by them either, but each one looks better than the last. The 3rd trailer actually looked pretty great. Who knows, maybe we'll all be surprised.
I think it is going to bomb. People are so back and forth on Tom Cruise. Whenever he does a new Mission Impossible movie, they do well. As does the occasional stand out like The Edge of Tomorrow. But then something like this comes out and people hate on both it and him before it is even released.

Wasn't Dracula Untold supposed to be the start of this universe? But no one told the audience to show up 😂
When it was originally developed, no, but when they reshot it they included additional material so if it proved successful it could lead to more films, but the plan was always to begin with The Mummy reboot. When Dracula appears in the Dark Universe he will not be the same as in Untold.
Based on the trailer for The Mummy, "Dark" doesn't seem like a particularly appropriate adjective to describe this "Universe".
Fair enough, but I think it looks like fun. I dig shared universes and I could go for another popcorn franchise to follow in the coming years.
True, I didn't necessarily mean it was a bad thing. Film looks like fun and I'll probably enjoy these "monster" films a lot more than anything offered by the Marvel, DC or Star Wars franchises. I like Tom too.
