With those first 4 episodes, is it better than anything from the old TP at its best?

With those first 4 episodes, is it better than anything from the old TP at its best? HELL NO. Unless the next 2 episodes somehow are the exact opposites of that nonsensical pointless shit the first 2 episodes were. If it's the same tree with a brain stupidity that only acid drenched middle school drop outs would think is clever then Hell FUCKING No!!!!!

Everyone is afraid to admit it's the same recycled fevered dream pretentiousness Lynch has lazily been squirting out of his bottom for well over a decade. As long as morons praise his lazy rehashed nonsense Lynch will cut and paste and laugh all the way to the bank. I'm confident enough to know I'm intelligent so I don't need strangers to pat me on the back and say "You 'get it' too so you're clever just like us. Rotten Tomatoes confirmed it." Do you really need affirmation of that nature?

Too early to tell, for me. Definitely not better than S1. Better than S2? Maybe.

I've just seen the first episode. Is horror porn the new normal? Was there truly a need for such a graphic scene?

It might be better. The original was filled with too much fodder imo (Lynch didn't direct most of the episodes), whereas the new season is right on point. The new season is also more like Mulholland dr, which I prefer anyway.

A lot of the new season feels very drawn out and padded, and then I'm reminded that Showtime doubled the number of episodes originally intended. But episode 4 did feel like a return to form for me.

The new one is FAAAAAR more "Lynchy" than the original Twin Peaks ever was.
With free reign, it is much closer to Eraserhead than when he had to try for some network mass appeal.
So if you are more of a David Lynch fan than you are a Twin Peaks fan, you will like this one more.
If you like Twin Peaks more than other David Lynch, the original is better.
I am in the latter camp so far, but want to see where it goes.

Better than season 2, but maybe not better than season 1. And I do absolutely love the new season so far.
