I can't see the image on this, but will say, George Carlin provoked god on stage for years and I don't think he ever collapsed. Are they sure the collapse wasn't faked? Edit: the clip finally loaded and my vote goes towards low blood sugar level, or high blood alcohol level, or just plain wanting the publicity.

So God strikes down a comedian for a mild joke but ignores certain politicians who clearly believe nothing except in their own power and re-election pretending to pray and holding up Bibles in photo-ops? There is such awful blasphemy going on all over world and Mr. Big singles out a stand-up comedian? Getoutatown.

Heather McDonald ended up in hospital but the audience thought it was part of the act and laughed. She said she'd had all the shots and then listed all the things she'd done before saying Jesus obviously loves her the most and then falls over backwards. In a way the timing is excellent.

And I am sure her little talk from the hospital bed will get sent all over the internet. The venue probably insisted the EMTs took her to the hospital, for liability reasons.

Note to audiences: Don't laugh when a performer, even a comedian, suddenly falls down onstage...this has happened so often that there's even a book on the subject, The Show Won't Go On, a compilation of incidents of performers who died onstage. One of these stories is about comedian Dick Shawn, who made a joke about death and then collapsed onstage immediately afterwards; the audience laughed for some time, thinking it was a part of his routine, before anyone realized that it wasn't.

I bet that was staged. She just didn't plan on cracking her skull with that pratfall. There is a way of falling backwards where you don’t get hurt but she used none of the techniques. Mind you, if she did fake it then the pro-vaccination folk should be offended, not the pro-Jesus folk.

You’re not the only one, I’ve seen claims that she did it deliberately on other sites and it’s also postulated another couple of times on this thread. Of course there’s always the possibility of that happening just like I meant to walk straight into a tree that one time.  My take on it is that if she meant to fall she’d have instinctively put her arms out or curved her body to land on her bottom (which can also cause injury if not done right) and if it was planned she would not have worn high heels. Mind you, perhaps her planning and execution of stunts is as poor as that short example of her comedy routine.

I feel like if God™ was trying to punish her, he would have been able to do a better job, like if it was me I would have just majicked one of her legs off, you know be less ambiguous.
