Clara Rockmore was considered the most proficient player of the theremin and one of her concerts is included in the movie. I don't know if she ever made any recordings.

Kansas City (1996) Robert Altman is a fairly routine comedy thriller, but what makes it worth watching is the jazz score and jazz club scenes featuring the famous "cutting contests" which led to the evolution of bebop from big band swing. So plenty of long scenes of tenor sax playing in particular. And this recommendation is coming from someone who does not really like jazz!

There were a couple of Hitchcock cameos where he was carrying a musical instrument but I can't recall which films.

Among the wonderful music and instruments a feature of Satyajit Ray's Jalsaghar , The Music Room (1958) are the Surbahar played by renowned Indian musician Wahid Khan and the Shehnai played by Ustad Bismillah Khan Surbahar sometimes known as bass sitar, is a plucked string instrument used in the Hindustani classical music of North India. It is closely related to the sitar, but has a lower tone. Shehnai is an Indian musical instrument similar to the oboe, Its sound is thought to create and maintain a sense of auspiciousness and sanctity Wahid Khan playing the Surbahar in Jalsaghar

Struggled through the 1:52 surely it must have been the only nominee that year! The Concertina is a great addition

Actually I was being a bit silly with the "despite this". I actually enjoy Bob's version of the song. manfromplanetxI just thought of another one. I do believe that Marlene Dietrich plays the accordion in Witness for the Prosecution .

Jimmy Stewart on the accordion in NIGHT PASSAGE -- his attraction to this film in order to play his favorite instrument helped to break up his successful professional association with director Anthony Mann, who hated the script.
Van Johnson plays the concertina to accompany singing soldiers in THE HUMAN COMEDY.
