Today in great lyrics:— Cole Porter, to his own music, “Please Don’t Make Me Be Good.”Lyrics don’t come much better than that. Yet somehow, in the same song, Porter also pulls off this:That “God bless ’em!” is the cherry on top—or, to quote Cole elsewhere, the smile on the Mona Lisa.

Curious how featured has come to be guest-starred in one episode.

Katsura's claw caught the little place mat under the food bowl as she jumped down, and the bowl went flying onto the floor.
Quite the excitement!

In this episode, Superman goes up against a criminal gang called the Toasters.
To be fair, it’s (slightly) more menacing than their first choice, the Coasters. Or their Seattle-based ally, the Roasters.

While one of the weaker films in the Shōwa era, Godzilla vs. Hedoarh (1971) does include a big scene with a cat. And the cat is thinking, "Go to Tokyo, they said. Work for Toho, they said, It will be great!"

Somehow the ad for the car dealer which proclaims itself your dealer for life sounds almost like a threat.

I’m starting to think there’s some crossover between old-show-tune fans and superhero fans. There’s that Superman musical, Batman warbling “Am I Blue?” in the Justice League cartoon, and then I watch a Lois & Clark episode with Lois singing lesser-known Gershwin at a jazz café.
Which makes my idea for a semi-musical (i.e., the songs are strictly diegetic) adaptation of Wonder Woman: Amazonia slightly less kooky. Slightly.

Rodgers and Hart wrote a famous song that gets sung for Valentine’s Day even though the last line suggests the date is not Valentine’s Day. So here’s a Today in Great Lyrics for a Rodgers and Hart song that isn’t that and probably shouldn’t be sung for Valentine’s Day: — Lorenz Hart, to Richard Rodgers’s music, “He and She.”

The special effects in the final moments of the episode 'Twenty Two' of The Twilight Zone are just awful. Really ruins an otherwise nicely creepy experience.
