I just started to re-watch Season 1 after years.. It started solid, but I remember I did always prefer older seasons where the kids grow up because Bundy was way funnier and Kelly was hotter than from Season 1. I love the characters, and Peggy is awesome. Katey Sagal played totally different chacater than Gemma from Sons of Anarchy.
Today I heard something.. it got cancelled after Season 11? Is the last season really bad? Which season(s) are the best?

It honestly gets much worse by the end, but I always enjoyed it. Al Bundy is still one of my favorite characters ever.

I enjoyed all seasons of Married with Children. But first 6 seasons were the best.

I couldn't really recommend it beyond the first couple of seasons. It was such a breath of fresh air coming right after all those gooey family sitcoms of the mid-80's. After that, it just became another formulaic sitcom, relying on the same character jokes. Jumped the shark several times. I actually remember the final season being better than some of the previous seasons when it turned into a complete cartoon. It probably got better after their worst writers/creators jumped ship to work on "Unhappily Ever After" at the dancing frog network.

I've only seen a few episodes, but I mostly enjoyed what I saw. I know eventually the dog starts talking and that was very absurd.

It gets worse and worse, but I still enjoy it, although more 150 episodes to watch are wayyy too many for me. Season 1 and 2 were definitely the best and totally something different.

I think it's a well acted show pretending to be a terribly acted show.
I think the laughs are dependent on how low brow people are willing to go.
By comparison, this show was far funnier than anything a similar show like Family Guy puts out. Whether that means anything at all will determine the value of the show.

Great show. Great blend of actors/characters, highlighted by the the perfect-for-the-show stylings of Ed O'neil. There were a few stinkers but overall some of the best TV ever.

Al Bundy is an Amrican hero and along with Homer J. Simpson one of the greatest philosophers your country ever produced.
Till to this very day I live by his second commandment: Es ist falsch Franzose zu sein (It is wrong to be French).

A little too over the top for my taste.

I've seen a handful of episodes and couldn't get into it. Low brow is right.

I enjoyed all seasons of Married with Children. But first 6 seasons were the best. I thought the first 4 seasons were the best, but it gets just worse and worse. Since I still enjoy watching it, I just finished sixth season, and I'm kinda tired watching it because 11 season is too far to finish. So, I think I paused it, but I might watch all episodes someday.

It was,for the most part, a funny show with no lessons to teach and thank God no Very Special Episodes. The addition of cousin Seven was a major mistake but after a few episodes he disappeared and was last seen on the side of a milk carton.

I remember finding it quite amusing at the time. I hadn"t seen an american comedy series anything like it before. I think i preferred the earlier seasons, but then I generally do. six seasons is usually about as much as a serie can last before it wears out its welcome for me.

I watched some this just yesterday and I doubt it could be put on tv today.
It's odd because back when this came out it was the liberals who would fight for a show like this to be on the air. And today they would be the ones to prevent it.

Wasn't my show but Ed O'Neill did make me laugh and Katey Sagal was very hot.

I felt the show was gold from the beginning all the way through the first few Jefferson years (I never had a problem with Ted McGinley's Jefferson, btw) and ran its course by 1995.
The last few seasons were just stale and got way too cartoonish (that kid who got left at their house, aliens visiting Al, the dog talking for examples, the spin-off stories with Matt LeBlanc), but those first six-seven seasons were hilarious.
And yes, Al Bundy's one of the great TV characters!
