Is there ever any discussion of moving when the Australian Open would be played? Seems like every year there are matches being postponed because of extreme heat. John McEnroe brings it up on commentary every year. Always told to shut up. Never going to happen.

Raducanu out in straight sets to Gauff. That's a shame. Both she and the player she defeated in the 2021 US Open final, Canadian Leylah Fernandez, were unseeded in this tournament. I guess neither of them had a good 2022. Fernandez hasn't played her 2nd round match yet.
Canadian Auger-Aliassime came back from two sets down to reach the 3rd round.

Raducanu is ranked 77th now!

Murray comes from two sets to love down to win.
Matched lasted nearly 6 hours and finished at 4am local time.

I hear Andy Murray was British yesterday, but he's Scottish again now.

Australian Open 2023 Quarter-finals lineup
Men
Kachanov (18) Korda (29) (American son of Czech Petr Korda – didn’t know about his existence until just now)
Tsitsipas (3) Lehecka
Rublev (5) Djokovic (4)
Shelton Tommy Paul
Three Americans in the last eight, but I wouldn’t bet on any of them reaching the final. Other than Djokovic, only Tsitsipas has reached a Grand Slam final before.
Women
Rybakina (22) Ostapenko (17)
Pegula (3) Azarenka (24)
Pliskova (30) Linette
Sabalenka (5) Vekic
One American and seven Eastern Europeans. Rybakina, Ostapenko and Azarenka have previous major trophies in their trophy cases.

Women's Final is set for Saturday #22 Rybakina vs. #5 Sabalenka Gee. It must be a 'Fluke' ( nothing it all to do with the fact these ladies are actually good at what they do) - we don't have #1 vs #2

It must be a 'Fluke' ( nothing it all to do with the fact these ladies are actually good at what they do) - we don't have #1 vs #2 Sabalenka in her first Major final. Rybakina will be playing for her second major, after Wimbledon last year.

If I were a betting person I would put some money on Djokovic - although it probably wouldn't pay much.

I'll be pulling for Tsitsipas as he's one of my favorites to watch. I was highly disappointed that he was bounced so early in the US Open, so hopefully I'll get to see him this time around. As the sun starts to set on the big 3 (I mean, it has to, right?), there are a ton of younger guys ready to pick up the mantle. Tsitsipas, Alcaraz, Thiem, tons of fun to watch.
