It seems unnecessary to me. Of course it does just like Blade Runner 2049, but there's money to be made so it's happening whether we like it or not.

Top Gun is one of Cruise better movies so i figure we ain't got much to lose. it's got to be better than his recent The Mummy (2017) given my impression of it from the commercials.
so overall i would take a chance on it over most movies.

Tom Cruise has been doing good for the most part so far. The Mummy not withstanding. So there's a chance that while as unnecessary as it seems, it's probably going to be fine.

I think it's a ridiculous idea. BTW, I just saw a scene from Top Gun on the tv news, and I realized for the first time ever that Adrian Pasdar was one of the cast members. In all the times I've seen the film, I had never noticed him in it.
