I'm talking about doing both. The MCU won't have a known X-Men actor or character show up in Infinity War even if they have full rights to do anything they wanted. I don't see how that would make any sense at all. And using a multiverse excuse, I will contend, as a writer myself, is a writing crutch. It's lazy. It's just a tool to keep from having to maintain continuity but then just pulling in a character whenever you need.
There is no way they do this is the biggest payoff film in the franchise. Zero chance.

Anyway I meant to say that I don't want them to show up in Infinity War. Secret War and Infinity War are two totally different events.

I agree. There are ways that a multiverse concept can be meaningful, but just using it for characters to show up whenever you feel like, but otherwise keep them separated, isn't one of them. My other complaint is that it would simply be too many characters. Not if it works.

But regarding Infinity War and Secret War, I have no problem with elements of events being combined. For instance if Spiderman found the Symbiote in Infinity War, that would be fine. We know Planet Hulk is getting meshed with Ragnorak, and again, that's more than fine, it's awesome. As long as it's a well crafted story, I'm pretty much cool with it.
