When I was a teen, I loved going to big stores like Media Play and Best Buy to browse their CDs and DVDs. They had nearly every movie you could think of. My dad and I would go and make an afternoon of it and find some cool stuff to bring home.
Now of course Media Play is gone and Best Buy has gotten rid of its music and movie sections. Unless I want to order something from Amazon or eBay, I still have a local used CD/DVD store that usually has a good selection. Plus the owners are nice; I’ve been going there’s for years.
I’m lucky that we still have a nearby Barnes and Noble, a Books a Million, and a couple independent bookstores. I’ll be really sad the day that there’s not a physical bookstore around to visit.

I get all my movies now from Amazon. I purchase to "own".
I've not purchased music since the late 90s maybe.
Books are wherever I can find them and not pay an arm and a leg...and a lot of audiobooks too.
🙂

Book Off is about the last place I know of.
Online I get anime & Manga from TRSI (The Right Stuf, International). This week it's 30% off Kodansha & Vertical.

Books…Barnes and Nobles, Audible, very rarely Amazon
Movies…Amazon is usually my first go to since physical media became a rarity in stores. At least the stores I tend to frequent.
Music…Pandora, YouTube…I usually don’t pay for music. It’s less important to me.

Books from Powell's, when I can, the evil Amazon when I can't.
Kanopy is my favorite source for films.
I still buy CDs and I have a large vinyl collection. Whenever I travel, I seek out vintage vinyl shops.

Books: e-books from Amazon. Paper books from Indigo (Canadian chain), Renaud Bray or Archambault (Quebec chains) or a couple of independent book stores that still survive.
Movies: I used to buy DVDs and later blu-rays regularly at Best Buy or HMV or Target or WalMart. I no longer buy movies very often, and when I do it's usually WalMart. Amazon only when it is an older movie that I can't find elsewhere. Music: I haven't bought any new music in years.

I saw a Barnes & Noble in the valley today! Dont know if it was actually still there or.if it was just the sign. What I like about TRSI is they often beat Amazon. Like the Kodansha sale. Arakawa Under the Bridge Retail Price: $17.95 TRSI- Your Price: $12.57 Amazon-$15.74. Kindle $13.99 TRSI sales usually beat Amazon. Order $50 at a time & shipping is free. I have been buying anime related stuff from them for over a decade.

Media Play was the best, man. The only other store that came close was Suncoast.

I would spend hours browsing in SunCoast and a huge used media store called Buy Backs, both now gone.
Walmart and Best Buy and Big Lots for brick and mortar stores. Not like the old days but still ok. I bought CatDog: the complete collection at Walmart right tonight. They must have found some in a warehouse or something. Packaging still says 2014 and its been OOP and very very expensive for awhile now.
Online, Amazon as a last resort.
Also online-Barnes and Noble for their Criterion/Arrow movie sales. Their books are way too overpriced and my local one quit carrying movies years ago. They said people kept shoplifting them.
Bullmoose.com Diabolikdvd.com MoviesUnlimited.com Critic's Choice Video Hamiltonbooks.com 👍 In Stock Trades Cheap Graphic Novels Online Moviezyng.com (sale on Warner Archive blu-rays right now. 4 for $49.99)
And straight from the so called "boutique" label sites themselves when they have a sale.
VinegarSyndrome.com Severin films Synapse films DarkForce Superstore 😈 🍌 RoninFlix.com FullMoonDirect.com Kino Lorber (huge sale on now)
Well, I did buy a title a few days ago from VynSyn with limited edition slipbox and cover that I don't think will last until the Memorial weekend sale.

barnes and nobles looking rough, like only a few people here. Talked to a sales associate who was just standing around. They cannot get inventory and a lot of empty shelves. And I am at a flagship location in Alexandria VA. RissaThe stuff they do have is so expensive compared to the A place.

Amazon, mostly
But I missed the old stores. Barnes & Nobles. There used to be a huge used book store downstate that I used to go to once a month. Great stuff. Might still be there. And, for music, the was Cavages. A local chain that had albums galore. Spent hours flipping through the racks of vinyl, looking for new music. My first job was at Cavages and I wouldn't have traded it to be quarterback of the Bills. Got to listen to music all day, pick what was being played on the overhead and got first shot at the posters when they were changed. I had my room decked out with promotional poster from the Stones, Van Halen, Zeppelin etc. And people begged me for ones I didn't want. I miss the old day but, like Bob said, the times, they are a'changin.

Maybe we’re just getting stupider as humans and younger generations are less likely to pick up a book because of the smartphone.

Normally I been buying movies on YouTube. I wish my internet was better so I could use a better platform but whatever.
I get most of my books on Amazon.
I'm using Spotify for music.
