"As we recently mentioned in a Vulture interview, extenuating circumstances also apply to Shelley Duvall in The Shining," the statement reads. "We have since discovered that Duvall’s performance was impacted by Stanley Kubrick’s treatment of her throughout the production. We would like to take this opportunity to rescind that nomination as well." movieweb.com/shelley-duvall-razzie-rescinded/

I agree that she should not have been given that award. Kubrick was notorious for being difficult to say the least.
MR KUBRICK!!! TELL ME WHAT YOU WANT!!!! Is what the elderly Scatman Coruthers exhaudtedly exclaimed after one scene and over one hundred takes.
Kubrick picked on her constantly, causing her to have nervous exhaustion and hair loss.
Truth is, without Kubrick the film would have ridden closer to the book (the way the miniseries did) and would not have used Shelly at all the book version of Wendy was somewhat stronger mentally.
The razzie award should still go to Kubrick because of obvious reasons.

Too little, too late. It's been known for decades now that Shelley Duvall was heavily under stress by Stanley Kubrick's meticulous directing. Most of all, it wasn't even a bad performance.

It shouldn’t be rescinded because Kubrick picked on her, it should be rescinded because hers is an excellent performance.

They do have odd tastes in what they consider bad.
