Despite a recent update claiming that WB was still committed to releasing The Flash, Variety's report on the Batgirl story mentions that the studio "is still contending with what to do about The Flash,” which has been "utterly hamstrung by repeated allegations of abuse and misconduct by its star, Ezra Miller."

The Flash Star Ezra Miller Charged With Felony Burglary
The burglary apparently happened back in May, so at least it’s not a recent example of Miller doing something stupid.

My 3 criteria for a franchise-banking star moving forward:
1. Actually wants to be in the franchise
2. Is not a terrible person/Walking PR nightmare
3. Is not universally disliked by audiences
Amber Heard breaks 2, Cavill breaks 1, Ray Fisher a multi-rule offender, Ezra Miller breaks 2 so badly that he may consciously be trying to break 1 as well and 3 is out the window, Good thing Will Smith was replaced, Affleck is maybe against 1 in an extensive role (but also reports as to not?), who knows if Keaton is still a 1 after what they’re doing to him, Jared Leto… is 3? A little of all of them?
So what do we really have to salvage from the last decade of DCEU movies? Jason Momoa still isn’t really a faithful Aquaman, but he’s definitely made the role his own and is very likable/box office value. Gal Gadot seems to come out of every movie with better and better public appeal, regardless of whether it’s a home run like WW, or something like JL/WW84. People typically don’t feel the blame had anything to do with her.
Do we just reboot everything and keep those two?

Regarding Amber Heard, public opinion is actually starting to shift when it comes to her and Johnny Depp. rollingstoneindia.com/johnny-depp-stans-rushed-to-fork-over-cash-for-unsealed-court-docs-did-it-backfire/Also, Jared Leto is long gone from DC, and I don’t really see how Ray Fisher is a “multi-rule offender.” Regardless, Cyborg isn’t really a significant character anyway. He’s no longer even a member of the Justice League in the comics. The real problem as of right now is Ezra Miller.

Ray Fisher in the sense that fans would be split on bringing him back, the PR of him doing another movie after slogging WB would be intense, and he’s implied he doesn’t want to come back with Hamada still there

"....A source with knowledge of the situation says the studio appears to be preparing for three possible scenarios. First, Warners has received indications that the 29-year-old Miller, whose mother has accompanied the actor in recent days, will seek professional help after returning home to their farm in Vermont after being away. If that help happens, Miller, who goes by they/them pronouns, could give an interview at some point explaining their erratic behavior over the past few years. The actor could then do limited press for The Flash, and the movie would open in cinemas as planned. The second scenario: Even if Miller doesn’t reach out for help, Warners could still release the film. But don’t expect Miller to play a prominent role in terms of marketing and publicity. Nor would Miller be The Flash going forward, as the role would be recast in future projects. The third case: Things go from bad to worse, with the situation with Miller deteriorating. This would see Warners killing the movie outright, as it could not be reshot with a different actor. Miller plays multiple characters and is in almost every scene. Scrapping a $200 million film would be an unprecedented move." www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/the-flash-fate-ezra-miller-problem-worsens-warners-1235196919/

Authorities think Miller is helping them hide from them. So...things continue to get worse.

They should make a movie based on this whole crazy thing with Ezra.
Like holyshit what a ride.

The likelihood of this movie being a huge critical and financial success is low. The likelihood of it further harming the DC brand is extremely high for multiple reasons.
They really should scrap it. Rehire Keaton to star in a Batman Beyond adaptation. Recast Flash for an origin story reboot.

The likelihood of this movie being a huge critical and financial success is low. According to The Flash Film News the movies Shazam 2, Black Adam and Batgirl received grades around 60% of approval from the test audience. However, the solo film Flash exceeded all expectations and had between 80 and 90% approval.

If Ezra Miller is in rehab and staying out of the public eye, that would be a good start, but a public statement is also necessary at this point. I’m not sure if Miller is mentally fit enough to make a public statement though, so I think their mother might have to speak on her child’s behalf.
If all that happens, then maybe the movie won’t be doomed, but they’ll have to find a new Flash regardless.
