Issa Rae said in a recent interview with Elle magazine that everything going on with Ezra Miller represents a “microcosm of Hollywood,” most notably how the industry continues to protect offenders. Miller was arrested twice in Hawaii this year, once for disorderly conduct and harassment, and they were also cited in Vermont with felony burglary. Back in 2020, Miller was seen in a video recording choking a woman outside of a bar in Iceland. Despite all of these incidents, the Miller-led comic book tentpole “The Flash” is still set for release in June 2023 from Warner Bros., with Miller even recently filming reshoots for the movie.
“While I don’t support people jumping to immediate conclusions and I think it’s entirely fair for investigations to happen, I think it’s extremely important to, like the mantra says, ‘Listen to women,’” Rae told Elle. “I’m gonna be real, the stuff that’s happening with Ezra Miller is, to me, a microcosm of Hollywood. There’s this person who’s a repeat offender, who’s been behaving atrociously, and as opposed to shutting them down and shutting the production down, there’s an effort to save the movie and them.”

I'm with Issa Rae, the way WB are protecting Miller is shameful. I understand that there are nuances to the situation and that there are a lot of people who worked on the film who aren't Ezra Miller who shouldn't be punished for their actions. However the decision to let Miller back in set for reshoots is a step to far. We're talking about someone with a long list if offences including multiple physical assaults. Miller needs to be off this project and not filming new scenes. Every so often we hear someone talking about how good their performance is, as if that somehow forgives the issues. At this stage Miller should either be in jail or a psychiatric facility, not being allowed to continue to work.

A brief teaser trailer during last year's DC FanDome teased exactly what the film has in store, including the revelation that franchise star Ezra Miller will be playing two incarnations of Barry Allen in the film — and according to the film's editor, Paul Machliss, the technology used to bring that to life could be part of the reason why the film has more recently been delayed. comicbook.com/movies/news/the-flash-movie-editor-dc-film-wait-delay/

I really don’t think this is necessary. I don’t think Indiana Jones will be that much of a threat.

Has there ever been a franchise debut where a reboot was a forgone conclusion before the movie even comes out? They sure have quite the mess going at DC.

Gadot getting cut has seemingly been debunked, but it looks like it’s confirmed that Cavill’s cameo has been cut.

I would think the movie is DOA at this point, but I guess we’ll see.
