I think this would qualify as one of the dumbest. A 41 year old woman walks into her local video store in Akron, Ohio. She was shopping for a DVD. She walks up to the clerk and gives him her phone number to look up her account. She then puts a note on the counter saying she has a gun and wants money. The clerk gives her money and she leaves the store. It was her real phone number. The police go to her house and arrest her for aggravated robbery.

This one is as stupid as the first one I posted. A young man goes into a 7/11. Has a gun and demands money and beer. The clerk says I can give you the money but I need to see an ID before I can give you beer. So the idiot gets his wallet out and shows the clerk his drivers license. The clerk (a woman) memorizes his name and address. She gives him some money and beer. He runs out of the store. She writes down his name and address. Calls the cops and tells them what happened and gives them his address and name. They go to his house and there he is drinking beer. They arrest him.

My Father was in Japan with the 11th ABD, met a girl in Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture, Japan in early 1946, he was transferred to Sapporo, Hokkaido Prefecture, Japan the girl and her family went with him to Sapporo. He was in Sapporo until late 1947, I had asked over the years about his time in Japan after the war. A few times he would let something slip about a family that he had in Japan. I never got any names. A few days before he died in Sept of 2014 I asked again if he could remember anything about his wife in japan. In a moment of lucidity he did admit that there was a child, but that was the last one due to his Alzheimer's.
