"Arrowverse" co-creator Marc Guggenheim sounds kind of bitter. “Not a job, mind you. A meeting. A conversation. A small recognition of what I’d tried to contribute to the grand tapestry that is the DC Universe. I’d only spent nine years toiling in that vineyard, after all,” Guggenheim wrote on his Legal Dispatch newsletter dated Feb. 3.
He added, “Although working for DC had been creatively fulfilling, it involved a lot of adversity, challenges, and personal sacrifices — none of which seem to have accrued to any professional benefit. Simply put, the Arrowverse hasn’t led to any other gigs, so it feels — at least on a career level — that I really wasted my time.” deadline.com/2023/03/arrowverse-co-creator-marc-guggenheim-not-getting-call-dc-studio-bosses-james-gunn-peter-safran-1235279340/

Warner Bros. Discovery CFO Gunnar Wiedenfels called the plans "an enormous opportunity". "DC is an enormous opportunity and two important building blocks are in place now with the leadership team, Peter [Safran] and James [Gunn], and James has been breathing comics for as long as he's been alive, essentially," Wiedenfels explained (via Variety). "A great creative leader here. And the second building block that is in place is the one-company approach, because I think you can only manage a franchise if everything is coordinated and the team is working together extremely well. There's an enormous level of collaboration and joint decision making around what should work hand in hand across the franchise." comicbook.com/movies/news/warner-bros-exec-james-gunn-peter-safran-dc-plans/

“I would not direct something for the [James] Gunn DC. Absolutely not,” the “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice” star told THR. “I have nothing against James Gunn. Nice guy, sure he’s going to do a great job. I just wouldn’t want to go in and direct in the way they’re doing that. I’m not interested in that.”

Oh so it's fine for "fans" to go after her but they never complained anytime Gunn put his brother in anything? Hypocrites...

Dang, they would have saved themselves a lot of trouble and bad press if they'd just released the darn movie.

I'm a bit confused. I thought everyone on Batgirl was already paid even if they cancelled the movie? And because the movie was going to HBO Max instead of cinemas, then people weren't getting bonuses based on box office return, right? So I'm not sure what kind of work or salary harm it caused by cancelling it.
