He's solid. His 9/11 joke remains a gold standard for the millennium. 'You can judge a person by how soon after 9/11 they masturtabed, & for me it was between the 2 buildings going down.

I dig Louis C.K.
I'm glad that you mentioned Burr and Gaffigan (two of my favorites), but I think CK does a different thing. He reminds me of George Carlin at times (though nobody's going to top George in my eyes). He's damn close though. I'd love to see him pull a Robin Williams/Jim Carrey/Steve Carrell and try his hand at a dramatic role. Skeptics should check out his show on FX, "Louie." Dude's got chops for days.

Does it matter if people have heard of them or not? It doesn't matter to me that he allegedly made creepy comments and likes to jerk off in his dressing room. He hasn't been accused of rape or even touching any one. If he made creepy comments maybe he can do what leslie jones did when she was called out for the hate filled racist comments she made and say "I was joking. I'm a comic." Okay. But again, why does it matter if people have heard of them or not? Is the suggestion that what they have said should be ignored because they're not famous enough for you? No, not especially. I don't feel about her, particularly. And I don't see what it has to do with what we're talking about.

I don't feel about her, particularly. And I don't see what it has to do with what we're talking about. It doesn't matter. I just mentioned Barr's name because most people have heard of her. Any person interested in the story would be curious to know if any other "celebrities" had made accusations against C.K. I'm just letting people know there were no other known names involved. You chose not to give any details so why are you suddenly so interested in how I decide to give details? Also why project your feelings onto others? Are you seriously that pathetic? You don't understand why I asked how you feel about Barr? She is the one making the accusations and trying to get attention drawn to it. Are you really as stupid as you seem? It's not very hard to follow. Also I wanted to see how much of a hypocrite you are and you are exactly like I thought you would be. Do you hate all Mexicans or just the ones you deem to be guilty based on what Roseanne Barr said? Let me guess. You're not really a racist, huh? Why are guys like you always so damn typical? It would seem like a few of you would try and be slightly original.

Agreed. I didn't. Yes... and? My concern is whether the accusations are true - and I've never suggested that they are. My feelings about the person who publicised the accusations are beside the point. So... you thought I wasn't a hypocrite at all? I agree. Well that came a bit out of nowhere. Mexicans? I don't hate any Mexicans. Or have any idea why you're now talking about Mexicans. Again, you seem to be fixated on the idea that it's who publicised the accusation that actually matters, as if the merit of the accuser determined the truth of the allegation. That is not so, at least to my way of thinking. Perhaps it is to yours. No, I'm not. I really don't know what the hell you're even talking about. What do Mexicans and racism have to do with anything? I doubt you've ever met any guys like me.

I doubt you've ever met any guys like me. Louis CK ancestry is largely Hispanic and he spent his childhood in Mexico where his Father was born. It's odd that for guys like you everything is about race until the spotlight is on yourself. I can tell you from experience that racism against Hispanics is a very real thing although I'm used to that being denied by white liberals like you who insist only African Americans are allowed to claim it. Similar to the way you feel a male like C.K. can't be the victim despite being the one whose reputation is being impugned without a shred of evidence. You're suggesting I never met a silly clueless white kid that only interacts with other silly clueless white kids? In your mind, left leaning overwhelmingly white communities where faux OUTRAGE is mandatory and practiced daily by guys who look and act exactly like you are somehow unique? Sadly that is so far from the truth it's perplexing that even YOU could suggest such an idiotic premise. The world would be a far better place if you and your ilk were not so common though. Also for at least the fourth time you suggest that "it's who publicised the accusation that actually matters, as if the merit of the accuser determined the truth of the allegation. That is not so, at least to my way of thinking. Perhaps it is to yours. " At no point in any of my posts did I say that or in any way even imply it yet you continue to bring it up. That is the definition of projecting. In the meager amount of time I spent reading about the allegations you were so anxious to bring up in this thread the defenders of Louis CK as well as those who simply say the accusations are false far outweigh the handful of people who say he made rude comments and enjoyed masturbating in the privacy of his dressing room. Yet you SEEM to lean towards believing Barr. She has made some very bigoted and hateful comments which is why I brought up the question of her character. You have no problem with her bigotry. That is your right. Perhaps you are kindred spirits. Perhaps he does those things. Perhaps he doesn't. Barr herself admits she never saw or heard him do anything. Perhaps the handful of women that suggested he was rude to them are being honest. Perhaps they are trying to get some attention at the expense of a well known person. Barr has only been in the news of late when spewing bigoted vitriol or making accusations. Perhaps that's why she suddenly needed to defend those possible victims of rude comments. Perhaps she did actually care about repeating some stories she heard thirdhand for more valid reasons. Perhaps we will know for sure one way or the other one day. I'm still confused about why you would even cryptically mention any of it when you were obviously too gutless to give any details. Also I'm confused why you (after being so cowardly for some bizarre reason) would try and argue with me when I did explain the "scandal" you brought into the conversation. Are you seriously as passive aggressive as you seem? Regardless you are bringing nothing to this discussion except a petty desire to bicker with your betters. Have a pleasant evening.

Louis CK is hilarious.
I have only seen one comedy special of Sykes and it was one of the funniest things I watched.
Not big on Schumer or Cho although Gaffigan is OK and clean.

Also, you think he's better than wanda sykes, amy schumer, or Margaret cho? Or bill burr or jim gaffagin? I like him a lot. As much as Wanda Sykes. A lot more than Amy Schumer. Margaret Cho I haven't heard in so long I'd want to hear her again. I probably like Jim Gaffigan a bit more than him, though. Sticking with more recent comedians, I also like Doug Stanhope, Anthony Jeselnik, Mitch Hedberg and Orny Adams more (although I wish Adams were more prolific)--those are probably my four favorite recent comedians. Gaffigan would be right below them. And I might like Daniel Tosh and Jim Jeffries a bit more than Louis C.K.. Louis C.K. is about on par with Kyle Kinane, Chris Hardwick, etc. for me. They're pretty close to the top, but not quite at the top for me. Oh, and Bill Burr I'm not really familiar with. I'll have to check him out.

The difference with CK IMO is his face.
He has the ability to look like someone you can empathize with no matter what he's talking about. Plus he either is a fantastic writer or he has fantastic writers.
I think his presentation at the Oscars was the funniest thing when he was presenting for Best Documentary.
He's been in a couple of dramatic roles like American Hustle & I think Blue Jasmine

You hate George Carlin but Wanda Sykes is the funniest thing you've ever seen? Just making sure I understood that correctly.

Nothing Carlin said was the funniest I've heard or seen. That's not to say that Carlin is a bad comedian, only that he is a comedian I don't care for. I know he's a genius and groundbreaking and yada, yada, yada... Maybe he's too old school and I don't give extra credit for pioneering something.

Not only is he a good comedian, but he's also really creative. Louie (2010 - 2015) was funny, but it was also dark and twisted at times. Same can be said for Horace and Pete (2016).
Though, George Carlin will always be number one in my book. At times, he'd have you rolling on the floor with laughter, but he would also made you think. I've always loved his HBO specials.

Please tell me what this IS about since you want to drop cryptic vague charges. You're being very unclear. All I can gather is you think C.K. is guilty of "something" simply because Roseann Barr said she heard from a friend of a guy who knew a girl who had a cousin that said Louis C.K. may have jerked off in his dressing room. That seemed a ridiculous and very flimsy reason to impugn the guys name. It seemed clear to me you have other reasons not to like the guy but you obviously don't want to talk about them so it's pointless to continue this conversation. Sorry if I hurt your feeling because my description of you was spot on.

Couldn't have said it better myself. I need to check out "Horace and Pete." For some previous posters not into Carlin, know that he had a variety of personas in his career...he was always George, but with an evolving edge. He was in the game so long. If you caught one you didn't like (I like him best in the late 80s/early 90s), you might give another one a shot from a different era. His last persona was very "old man," but earlier on, he was a little faster, with wilder turns. Check this out...still one of my favorite bits from him. The last few seconds can still draw a tear from me. To each their own. Louis CK is awesome. I only compare him to Carlin because I think they both can complement their comedy with genuine emotion. I hope Louis CK enjoys the same kind of success.

Not as good as he is a director. He directed Pooty Tang after all.

And here we are, Louis CK has admitted that the allegations about him are true.
I'm sad to have been shown to be right about him.

He’s one of the best. Jim Gaffigan is not funny. He tries to be too clean.
